  1. He doesn't have it tonight. Need to get the pen ready quickly.
  2. I'll let you know when that happens. I haven't seen that yet.
  3. The semi finals start tomorrow and Go Johnny and iortiz will advance to face Thunder and MVP. Iortiz beat me like a drum pitching a 10-0 shutout against me and ending my dreams of a three-peat. Go Johnny had the upset of the playoffs thus far eliminating U.N.'s powerhouse team. Good luck to the remaining teams.
  4. Imagine getting tickets for a meaningful September game on a Sunday night against the Yankees and Ortiz is on the bench in his final season.
  5. I disagree. I think that he spits plenty. Such a hater!
  6. His OPS was down more than 100 points from his career average last season, and he has not played this much since 2013. This is his career high in PA.
  7. It is just bickering at this point. Southpaw stated his point of view and Bells felt the need to stir things up.
  8. it was the only aspect of the Yankee tea that had been superior to the Red Sox until they blew it up at the Trading Deadline. Now they have a horror show in the pen.
  9. Just bickering to pass the time.
  10. We are the better team, and Girardi's BP is awful.
  11. No one here belongs to a group. Don't be lazy, Doji. If you have a problem with what someone says, address it. Don't paint with a broad brush.
  12. I like Napoli, but he has been an all or nothing guy in his career. We would be buying high on him, and that is never good when dealing with a streaky player.
  13. I don't even know what you mean by that, but if you are criticizing actions, you shouldn't need generalizations about philosophies.
  14. We had no pitching in 2011. We barely had warm bodies to fill out the rotation. And even if we collapse, the Yankees will not be the team to catch us. They are a cold dead corpse.
  15. Yes. Taking issues with perceived philosophies usually miss the mark, because no one ascribes to the general perceived philosophy as it is usually exaggerated, inaccurate and colored with bias. So taking issue with generalized philosophies is taking issue with nothing.
  16. You are still carrying the scars from 40 years ago.
  17. But they are generalizing about the criticism of Farrell. And their generalizations are very inaccurate with regard to most of us. Southpaw is just clarifying his position as am I.
  18. Well stated. I feel the same way about it.
  19. I would like to get him as many reps as possible before the playoffs, but Young needs reps too, so they should give Betts a blow later in the week as long as we maintain our lead.
  20. That is because in the AL there is DH, so they make a lineup and go to sleep. Also, most teams have very thin benches because they need to carry so many pitchers. Add to that the ridiculous unwritten rule of not using both catchers in a game (even if it is the 9th inning), and there are very few pinch hitters.
  21. I am hoping that the rebuild has them scraping the bottom of the standings for 5 years.
  22. I am never one to stick a fork in the Yankees. I usually wait until they stop breathing and two bullets are pumped into their heads, but this 2016 Yankee team is finished, finito, done. Mark it down.
  23. I think Girardi is a major douche and prick, but living in NY I watch a lot of the Skank games and his inferior teams perform better than their rosters would indicate. He is always on top of the situation and he has the ability to think ahead which JF doe not. Girardi has the opposite problem from JF sometimes. He will take out a pitcher who is on cruise control with 80-85 pitches because the stats show that he has a rough time the 3 rd time through the order. Well, maybe this is his good day and he is cruising so why take him out? I love when he does that, because it often blows up in his face.
  24. And it is easy to blame managers, because they are usually stupid heads who make some very obvious mistakes. They get paid handsomely to make out a lineup card and recap the game with the press and little else, so the criticism comes with the territory.
  25. The explanation is that Jones is a jackass. Athletes should never be asked for comment on anything other than their sport, because they are insulated and usually very uninformed. The author has a political agenda beyond covering sports. That jackass should just write about sports or get a job on cable TV.
