  1. Maybe we have been talking at cross purposes. I originally asked you how wearing a Puerto Rican hat would be received in the DR. Then we discussed MLB's investment in the DR which you pointed out doesn't equate with international teams in the eyes of Dominicans. Sk then said some stuff about debt etc which I deferred to you about and I mentioned that the DR was a sovereign nation. MVP said that it was a territory without sovereignty, which is where my misunderstanding started. Now, I realize that MVP was talking about Puerto Rico while I was talking about the DR all along. I misread Sk's post. I saw DR when it said PR. SK must have misread my post, because he responded to my question about the DR with information about PR. I was talking about the DR all along. Never mind.
  2. Right. And Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. I always thought that the DR was a sovereign nation.
  3. What does that mean? What are the restrictions on your government? Edit: Not being argumentative, just curious about this.
  4. If anyone could speak to that, it would be U.N. My understanding is that they are a sovereign nation.
  5. Not sure how USA has done that.
  6. Usa! Usa! Usa!
  7. He has been one of your favorites.
  8. That surprises me considering all the investment by MLB in state of the art facilities in the DR. My nephew has played there the last 2 years, and the word I hear is that the facilities in the U.S. do not compare favorably.
  9. How is that received on your island?
  10. Does he belly up to the dinner table with his utensil arm hanging like Kimbrel's right arm. That is what I would want to know.
  11. All random.
  12. Yep, and translating the "hard" portion of your statement, the margin for error is very very small. Even the slightest effect from nerves can make the most steely nerved professional fail.
  13. This is going slower than I had expected.
  14. DD is saying that Price will probably not be ready before May. Good news for Slasher.
  15. Possibly building trade value.
  16. I think most people acknowledge that "clutch" is just the absence of choking or choking less than your peers.
  17. If it was proved that a random order was as good as any other, every manager would be doing it -- just one less thing for them to have to think about. Managers love push button decisions.
  18. If I get the first pick again, that would be clutch.
  19. All the permutations and dynamics could never be quantified in a reliable way to prove or disprove anything.
  20. If it was true that lineups didn't matter, managers would do it consistently as it would relieve them of second guessing. Picking lineups out of a hat would become part of "the book".
  21. No need to do that. We can just sum it up with the following. I think you are wrong and you think I am wrong. And neither of us can prove or disprove the other's position.
  22. If it was a fact, that is how managers would do it.
