  1. How does the weather look for Sale's start tomorrow?
  2. So much for the big comeback season from Pablo -- 4 errors and a DL in April.
  3. Does the weather look like they will be able to play tonight's game?
  4. Good riddance fatboy.
  5. I still think that he is the spark for the team, but I think that he put his foot in his mouth in this instance.
  6. I agree. He is really throwing his pitchers and managers under the bus. He acted like a jerk.
  7. Joe Torre is senile and shouldn't be ruling on anything. It's time to put him out to pasture.
  8. When personally mocked and antagonized, I don't remain quiet. I would be happy to drop it. None of my posts addressed him, but he went on a tirade.
  9. I know Steve -- a very nice guy and a very knowledgeable baseball guy. A fun guy with whom to watch a game. Some of us here have known each other for quite a while whether by conversing on the phone or Skype or meeting in person. This is a community in many ways and more than an anonymous message board.
  10. I will have to DVR the next Orioles series to preserve the event if it happens.
  11. Did you entertain yourself with that incoherent babble? If I lost half of my brain cells, I could get your act down pat.
  12. I would love to see Showalter get the snot pounded out of him.
  13. Unfortunately, too many skulls of mush swallow this garbage, incorporate it and then regurgitate it in knee jerk reflex.
  14. Spud, you can turn a phrase with the best of them. LOL!!
  15. Major nerd! But no pocket protector.
  16. At least he hasn't called you anti-stat or anti-stathead. LOL!! He is just calling you a "denier." He likes to pin labels on people even though he misunderstands their positions.
  17. You would be wrong this time. I have a BA, JD and an LLM in Taxation, getting my last degree at age 28.
  18. Joe Morgan. And he was tough and gritty, and so was Hal McRae. He was as tough as they come. Oops, I said "they". Please know that I was referring to all ballplayers. LOL!
  19. So was Cesar Tovar who played all 9 positions in one game. If we cared to take the time, we could think of a list of blacks and Latinos who were tough gamers or crafty pitchers, but the universe of black and Latino players is a minority and most have to be top athletes to get noticed and make the majors. Not many make it on grit or toughness-'- so we are talking about a minority of a minority.
  20. It's what is taught in University that all sorts of innocent terms (I.e., microaggressions) are subconsciously racist or sexist. It is nonsense.
  21. I didn't hear his post game comments. What did he say? What he said in the dugout didn't sit right with me.
  22. I have a different view on this matter,. The term isn't racially charged imo. I think it is a function of Latino and black players having a tougher road to the major leagues. If they aren't top athletes with 4 or 5 big tools, they don't make it, so not many fit the "gritty" description. The term is not racially charged. It just isn't applicable to most black and Latino players. Gritty Latinos don't make it to the show.
  23. Red Sox hitters should be light on their feet in the batter's box this inning.
  24. Poorly executed, but they were attempting to protect their guy. Why would Pedroia disavow what they did?
  25. Tough gritty SOBs don't get intimidated when they are thrown at.
