  1. More base running buffoonery
  2. It upset the "Cliff People" very much. They love Sale but thought we gave up too much-- playing both sides of the fence.
  3. That was my assumption, but I did not confirm that.
  4. I am not seeing that at all. Maybe we should nominate you to close out games, and we can get all over you before you throw a pitch.
  5. I'll take the jobs and invite the criticism. I'd certainly make some wrong decisions, and they would be obvious as I would not be standing there with my hands in my pocket and not screaming.
  6. Being aggressive on the bases is one thing, but what we have witnessed this season is collective stupidity on the bases and the manager and coaches share the blame. This type of foolish base running is not uncommon of Farrell teams going back to his days in Toronto. He
  7. I asked the question in my first post whether there was any waving or screaming by Butterball. You responded with a post saying that it was all on Bradley absolving Butter of responsibility. I stated that Butter still had a job to do to which you responded "what job"? Now, you are asking whether I know that Butter didn't try to get his attention. That was my original question. How did we get back to square one? But I guess it is your way of acknowledging that Butter had a job to do on that play.
  8. And even if he 1B coach briefed him and Bradley thought ball was in the gap, Butterface did nothing at 3rd.
  9. he should have tried to get his attention and in a worst case scenario, he should have caught his attention half way to 3rd. By that time, yes, he is toast, but you have to try. The throw back into the infield could get away. Maybe he catches his attention as he turns second and Bradley can slam on the brakes and get back to first base. It is his job to get his attention when the guy is making a mistake.
  10. So when a guy pulls a rock, the coaches should just put their hands in their pockets? I get that it is Bradley's fault, but Butternut never got his attention. He didn't do his job either.
  11. Was there any waving and yelling by the base coaches? How could Butterball not get his attention before he hit 3rd base? Dereliction.
  12. Appropriate moderating.
  13. His ERA is 4.72. The characterization of him stinking up the place is a accurate.
  14. And that's why statistics are good for confirming an opinion. You can almost always find a lot of data that will support it. It goes back to Bin Scully's great line about using statistics the way a drunk uses a lamppost for support and not illumination.
  15. The next 3 weeks are a make it or break it stretch. It would be nice to have Pedey and Hanley healthy so that the offense can hit on all cylinders. The September Schedule is quite a bit easier except for finishing up with 4 games against the Astros.
  16. I think the remainder of our schedule is tougher this year than last year. We play the Yankees 10 times in the next 3 weeks and they are only 2 games behind us in the loss column. We still have 5 games against the Guardians and we wrap up the season with 4 games against Houston. If we hold serve with the Yankees in the upcoming 10 games, we should be okay for the division, but this race can change drastically in the next 3 weeks.
  17. I can live with that from Fister.
  18. Benintendi had home plate easily. The coach should have known that. It was a completely unnecessary out.
  19. Speed is a big part of his game. I don't like paying speed guys into their 30's. I am out.
  20. Cardinal Rule: Never make the first or the third outs at third base.
  21. Unbelievably stupid base running. That play was in front of Young and the third base coach should have been screaming for him to hold two and get back.
  22. I am not so sure about that.
  23. 10 year deal for Mookie @ $275 million? I'm out.
