Lowell lol-gagged it to 1B. If he ran full out he would have been safe.

All that is left is Speier

BJ has thrown over 30 pitches and they have used 5 guys out of the pen.
  4. a700hitter
How long will BJ go? and who is left in their pen?

I don't think it is that big of a risk. It's not a long term commitment. It would be for half of a season. It wouild be the blink of an eye, but you may not want to blink because you could miss a hell of a show. It will either be the ultimate high or merely Roger's final tour of Fenway. Either way the fans win.

    Wells runs everything down.

Will Terry stretch him out like that? He'll lose him for the rest of the weekend.

He's oing to Papelbon in a tie game in the 8th?

Timlin really didn't have it tonight. I wasnt to see Foulke in a pressure situation. Who is coming in?

    Welcome

Welcome to the boards. It's too bad that you don't get to see or hear many games. If you sign up for the Red Sox Nation card, one of the benefits is that you can listen to all of their games over mlb.com. The card costs $9.99 and MLB Audio, which you would get for free is a $14.95 value.

I've been watvhing him from day one, and you are absolutely right. The only time he came up big was game 7 of the 2001 WS. He pitched very well under the pressure. I did n't expect that he would... but we know how that turned out for his team.

Wells is indicating that he may retire. Could this pave the way to Clemens' return. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=136053

Eck just said that he was glad that Kazmir left the game. What a sadist!
  15. a700hitter
He has been locating his pitches much better lately. When he does that he pitches well.

    Tavarez stinks tonight.

C'mon, we have to pull this one out for Wake.
  18. a700hitter
    He's still a pampered pussy.

Not enough of an upgrade to make a move.

My only point is that the criticisms that Foulke is "sucking" this year are just not valid.
  21. a700hitter
I am interested to know who you have seen that was better.

It took years for Timlin to be as reliable as he is. I wouldn't feel comfortable throwing him into that role until he shows a lot more consistency.
  23. a700hitter
...and he got robbed of the VP in 1999.
  24. a700hitter
That's all this team needs from him.
  25. a700hitter
Me too. I don't have a high opinion of Harris. He is not much of a hitter, and Stern is a better fielder with a better arm and more speed.
