    "Can of corn" means that it was an easy catch. It is used to refer to popflys or easy fly balls, but not usually grounders. I don't know who originated the saying, but my guess is that it was Red Barber when he was announcing for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

    If he can finish this year with 215, it is not inconceivable for him to do it in 5 years. If he has a couple of 20+ win seasons, he'll be close enough to smell it and he migh stick around to get it.
