  1. It worked for me. Cool video.
  2. Do you project them as major leaguers, and if so, when?
  3. How about blaming the teachers that don't know grammar or spelling.
  4. What about Bucholz and Bowden?
  5. Hansen has command of his fastball, and he proved in ST that he can get out ML hitters. They are fine-tuning his slider, so he can dominate ML hitters. Lester hasn't mastered any of his pitches, and he has not yet proved that he can get out ML or AAA hitters. Not everyone of these prospects will make it. Of all the arms in the organization, maybe 4 become successful major league pitchers that last a few years. You'd be lucky if two become stars. The rest are washouts or at best journeymen. The FO has to figure out which guys make it and try to trade as many of the rest to improve the team. Which 4 do you think will have major league careers, and which two become stars?
  6. Duh, don't all fans act like scouts, Mr. "Miller will be drafted first"?
  7. I hope he makes it big. I hope the kid comes up in a month or two and electrifies the Fenway Faithful like Papelbon did last year. I don't see it happening. He's not that close. Don't forget that he is younger than Papelbon. However, if he starts to regress they should move him while his value is so high.
  8. Mo was pissed. Riv and 26 are still screaming at their walls.
  9. It says something about the other managers.
  10. But Wily Mo can put up 30 or 40 Homers when he gets the chance. If he does, then it is a good deal.
  11. Keeping the right ones is important. The rest are bargaining chips that need to be moved before they lose value. The art is figuring out which is which.
  12. Yes, he would give us 12 0r 13 wins with a 4+ ERA.
  13. Please don't misquote me. I said the he will not be a top of the rotation pitcher for 3 or 4 years. I didn't say that he would not contribute at all for 3 or 4 years. He'll probably hit the big league roster much sooner. I also didn't say that he is "garbage that no one should take a chance on." In fact, I said that because he is a lefty someone will always want to take a chance on him. I wish people would read the words in my post rather than reading words that they think are in my posts. My point is that you want prospects to yield the highest possible value. They shelf life of a top prospect is not long. After a couple of years, if they don't make it big, they are just another guy. I don't see Lester being Johan Santana in the next couple of years. BTW I don't recall posting similar sentiments about Papelbon.
  14. Gardenhire always makes the wrong move...always.
  15. Lester needs more than minor adjustments. Mark my words. This kid will not hit the major league scene anytime soon as a major contributor. I think he is at least 3 or 4 years away from being a top of the rotation type starter if ever. If he continues this string of ineffective starts, he will lose value. As a lefty, there will always be someone willing to take a chance on him, but the Sox FO should not wait too long for him develop. If it starts to look like he is taking a step backward from last year, they should package him up for a top line major leaguer. Why are posters on these boards so emotionally attached to these minor leaguers? They are not our kids. They are merely assets of the Red Sox to be used in the best way to improve the team. I would love to see this kid be the Johan Santana of the Red Sox, but that's is far on the horizon. I'd also love it if they used the kid to get Willis or Cabrera from the Marlins.
  16. Houston will not pony up the dough. Clemens cares less about home than he does about money. It's all about the money. Last year he made more than any pitcher in history.
  17. Very funny. The only thing it was missing was after "I need to Pee" you should have added, I need to go inside the Monster.
  18. Manny hasn't been happy since he's been in Boston. That has never affected his batting.
  19. ...or a good porno.
  20. FO should move fast to package him for Dontrelle Willis before Lester loses value. I for one don't buy the hype on the kid. When I saw him at ST he showed nothing exceptional.
  21. Jaret Wright is scary bad.
  22. Pena, as a lefty first baseman, should get almost no playing time for the Yankees. His stock must be at rock bottom if he signed a minor league deal with the Yanks. Colome blows. If a pitcher can't make it with Tampa Bay, he should find a new profession. You can try to use Sturtze as an example, but it doesn't hold water. Sturtze has always been a 5 ERA pitcher. Last year was an exception. He was at 4.74 which still stinks.
  23. So many of these guys are a-holes in their personal lives. If we only rooted for the good guys, it would be a very quiet season for all of us. All that matters in the end is how they play the game. Bring Clemens to Boston.
  24. Francona can't give two other regulars the day off when Wake pitches. With Varitek out of the lineup, he has to play Loretta and Lowell. If they needed the day off, he could wait until Nixon comes back this week and rest them on a day that Wakefield is not pitching. BTW Is Crisk scheduled to come off the DL a week from Monday?
  25. It's a shame to waste a really good outing from Wake.
