Sell Sell Sell! There is nothing to add to on this team. It is below average across the board and it is not fixable in the short term and maybe not even fixable for next season. I think a good start on changing the direction of this ship would be firing Bloom. He has been given enough rope and he has hung himself. Maybe Cherries needs a coffee boy in Pittsburgh.

Metrics dictate the moves and removes managerial accountability. He can always pull out the stats to defend himself when a move blows up in his face.

Maybe Bloom will extend Kike for his versatility- a below average bat and below average at 2 of 3 positions. He is a building block.

we would be in much worse shape without Kenley and Martin. -
In non-Dombrowski seasons since 2013, the Red Sox have finished last in 4 out of 5 seasons and they are taking aim at 5 out of 6 last place finishes.

I think I could finish last with a lot less effort. When Ralph Kiner wanted a raise, Branch Rickey said, “we finished last with you last year. I am pretty sure that we can finish last without you.” We can finish last without Bloom or or cheater Cora.

Attendance will be way down from the norm. They are well below the usual pace and that will slow as they fall further out of the race.

It is clear that the FO wants to run this organization at the highest profit margin. Winning is not the top priority. The attention of the ownership group is in too many other directions. Bloom was brought in to run the show on the cheap, but he has been a failure.

I think it should be clear that Whitlock will never be a reliable piece of the pitching staff for a full season. The extension Bloom gave him will end up being a mistake.

Mookie was an IFer until he converted to break the Red Sox lineup.

Like Harry Frazee, these owners have interests that lie elsewhere and they expect that the Red Sox will be a nice stream of income if run economically. Winning isn’t the highest consideration.

Mookie is a generational talent. He followed in the footsteps of Ruth, Williams, Yaz, Rice and Ortiz. You don’t let guys like that leave. He is still playing great and has become more versatile playing 2B and SS and doing it like a star. Not keeping him was immensely stupid. I don’t care who called that shot. Congratulations to the Red Sox for creating another Babe Ruth situation 100 years later.
