    Earlier in the week, Michael Kay said on his radio show that if the Yankees got swept at home and started next week 8 games out that Torre might get fired. They should win at least one of the next two, but if they don't, does Torre get sent packing?

    I've been listening on the radio. I had to pick up my daughter from college. A couple of questions. What was the deal with Dice K walking 3 guys in a row to open the 4th? Did he lose his release point? Was it a meltdown? What was the deal? With regard to Rivera, we just paste him now. It's nothing but ropes. When was the last time Mo got lifted in the middle of an inning?

    On Michael Kay's radio show, he said that if the Yankees lost tonight and then get swept by the Red Sox to be 8 games out of first that he would not be surprised if Torre got fired.

    Do you think WMP gets the start tomorrow against Pettitte even if Crisp is cleared to play? He made good contact tonight, and he is a streaky guy, so I'd ride him until he starts flailing away again.

    I just looked up Clemens game log in his fir year 1984. After his first 6 appearances, he was 2-1 with 7.13 ERA. Two years later he was a star, but he threw quite a bit harder than Hughes. The Yankees might have something very special in a couple of years, but I think it is safe to say that he'll be a non-factor in 2007. If he has Clemens stats after his first six starts, he'll be sent to the minors for the rest of the year.
