  1. Francona on Lester in today's paper: I wouldn'tr rush this kid to the majors until I was certain that he could command all of his pitches. I don' think the FO believes that he is ready to do that yet. As for who the 5th starter will be, that should be the Rocket.
  2. The Yankees have three solid starters, a good bullpen, and a killer lineup. They are playing poorly now, but they will turn it around. Now, is the perfect time for the Boss to can Torre.
  3. Hold down the Yankees this inning and we have two more shots. The heart of the order comes up in the 8th.
  4. Good work by Stinkskie!
  5. Before this game is over, we need to get a big hit from J.D.
  6. How about a PH for the midget?
  7. Hopefully, he'll work a walk.
  8. It would be really nice to work around to the top of the order with no outs.
  9. Pinch Hitters would be in order this inning.
  10. I hate when the Red Sox do not put their foot down on the Yankees' throats when they are playing poorly.
  11. Nice play by Wake. Terrible bunt by Abreu-- a gift out.
  12. I think his fielding is getting in his head a bit.
  13. More of the same when Wakefield pitches-- no run production.
  14. Belli throwing another popup to second.
  15. Igawa doing well so far.
  16. I hate watching a knuckleballer.
  17. Can we knock out two starters before the fourth inning in one game. That would be quite an accomplishment.
  18. I guess the starter is not going very deep today.
  19. Jackson, are you a little torn about wanting the Yankees to win today? If they lose today and tomorrow, you probably get rid of Clueless Joe. I can remember rooting against the Red Sox in the last year of Butch Hobson's disastrous reign. He was the worst manager in my memory, but the FO and fans seemed to like him. It took disastrous back to back seasons fo him to get canned.
  20. Slipping to 23rd would be very unexpected.
  21. When the fish passed on Quinn, they showed him sitting with his girlfriend and I am not a lip reader, but it looked like he said: "I don't know where I am going." If he slips to KC, that would be some great coup by the Chiefs.
  22. The Boss has been waiting for two things to happen: 1. For the financial cost of firing Torre to become reasonable, and it now is, 2. For Torre's adoring legions to turn against him. That is also the case. If he falls 8.5 games out by Monday, he's gone whether it looks desparate or not. It will look like a good move as the Yankees start to get people back from the DL and play better.
