  1. Base Knock by the captain to start the 11th.
  2. Losing this game is no mystery. We have to get used to giving away a game every 5th day until Schilling comes back or the FO brings in other reinforcements.
  3. Now, Lugo needs to steal.
  4. Need to get the runs in the 8th. Putz will pitch the 9th and he's tough.
  5. MDC will go down because he's got options. They'll give Timlin more time. I don't think there is much left in the tank, but if there is, he has the experience, professionalism and poise that MDC does not have yet.
  6. This is just about the time that we started the parade of s*** last year. The danger is that Gabbard has a good start next time out and then has a couple of crappers. Then they try Hansack for a couple and maybe even Lester. Before you know it, the July 31st deadline will pass and then it will become clear that none of our prospects are ready yet and someone else will have scooped up Buehrle. There's no need to panic now, but the FO has to think about fine tuning the team for the playoffs and setting up a strong rotation that can dominate through the post season even if Schilling doesn't make it back. I don't think they should let this chance pass to score a big time pitcher.
  7. I'm a little worried that the FO waits hoping the price comes down as the deadline approaches. If they do that, they run the risk that the Mets or another team swoops in and does the deal, or even worse, if our 5th guys keep s***ing the bed, the price will go up because they will sense the desperation, especially if Schilling doesn't come back strong.
  8. We were Ooohin and Ahhing about King Felix and his potential the last time we saw him. Since then he has been injured and very, very human. He's got a long way to go to develop the consistency to be a marquee pitcher. Stuff means nothing at the major league level unless you can develop consistency.
  9. If the Red Sox medical staff has any question about Schilling's health they should pay the price for Buehrle. We are kidding ourselves to think that a kid with good minor league stats can pitch consistently in a major league rotation. The solution is not Lester either. When he came up last year we had to endure lots of full counts and walks and pitch counts of 100 by the 4th inning. I'd rather not start with the parade of kids and has beens every time the 5th slot comes around. You can't be conceding the 5th spot as a forfeit every time around. Gabbard will probably get another start before they banish him to the minors.
  10. Meltdown time by Gabbard. He's just killed his trade value.
  11. Asa the trading deadline approaches, the price will go down. It's in the White Sox best interest to do the deal now. It's in the Red Sox interest to wait.
  12. Lugo continues to be useless.
  13. Nice play by Youklis getting the lead runner.
  14. Three popups in that inning. What is going on?
  15. No. Homers against Weaver. Where are they tonight?
  16. Lugo still sucking. Where are the Homers?
  17. It's only a matter of time before we touch up Home Run Derby Weaver.
  18. If push came to shove, and they wouldn't budge and we could sign Buehrle long term, I'd probably part with Bucholz, but not Ellsbury. I think he is a special talent.
  19. If we could lock up Buerhle long term as part of the trade, I 'd be willing to part with anyone in the minors other than Bucholz or Ellsbury. I just don't think they can get a long term deal signed. Who is Buerhle's agent?
  20. Trot Nixon?
  21. Come back? He never established himself as a consistent reliable major league starter.
  22. If kenny Williams is convinced that the 2007 White Sox will not be able to compete for Wild Card, he'll get the most value for Buerhle if he trades him soon. If he waits until the trading deadline, teams will not pay as much for him. He'd be a huge addition, but I think the desperation of the Mets will result in them being the most aggressive trading partners.
