  1. I just don't see how AZ can compete with Col. AZ is a bunch of retreads mixed with a few kids. They have a very weak lineup.
  2. When the second HR went over the wall my father and I just looked at each other and said nothing, but the look we had was an unspoken " WTF was that!"
  3. Was the second of those games a Sunday game at Yankee Stadium when David Justice and Paul O'Neil hit homers to win the game after we took the lead against Mo? If so, I was at that game with my Dad who was 80 at the time. We were in the RF grandstand, and those HRs came right towards us. I remeber thinking that they were just flyouts and they kept carrying and carrying. I couldn't believe it. My recollection is that O'neill was pisseed and flipped his bat away thinking he had flown out. Two cheap HRs.
  4. Ortiz and Manny are just a wrecking crew so far in the post season. They are just so good now that it is sick.
  5. Gagne k's the side, but it was not the least bit awe inspiring.
  6. Throw strikes and they get themselves out.
  7. It's the back page story of today's NY Post. Torre made an obscene amount for being a mediocre manager. That had to bother the Boss.
  8. Gutierrez swings at ball 4. Thank goodness he did. I can't take much of this Gagne.
  9. Timlin with a strong inning. Good to see.
  10. I don't know why McCarver is so certain that Wakefield will pitch game 4. It really depends on the situation after game 3. If the Sox are down 2 games to 1, I have no doubt that Beckett will start game 4. If the Sox are up 3-0, Wakefield gets his start. If the Sox are up 2-1, I'm not so sure, but probably Wakefield.
  11. Beckett with another big post-season performance. He was in total command once again. He is like the anti-Wang in the post-season.
  12. Timlin is warming. I guess that means Beckett will be showering. Good move by Terry. He has to look ahead. We should put a couple of more on the board here. Beckett is a stud, and if he can pitch 3 times in a tough series, it gives you a big advantage.
  13. They are bringing up a good point about pulling beckett after a breeze of an 80 pitch outing to give them the option of bringing him back on 3 days rest to pitch game 4 and full rest to pitch game 7. This is the way I would go.
  14. I'm wondering what kind of evidence there will be in the report to support the naming of names. If it's just based on the disclosure of witnesses, that would be very unreliable, and I think it would be unfair to tarnish reputations unless they have some solid evidence.
  15. What a beat down administered to Sabathia-- 8 Runs. Let's save some for tomorrow night.
  16. The FOX Crew trying to put the hex on Beckett by coming out with the 48-2 stat when his team scores 5 or mores runs.
  17. I posted a few days back that the TV ratings for the NLCS would be low. I heard this morning that Arizona has not sold out their home games for this series. If their own community has no interest, the rest of the country should be even more disinterested.
  18. Thanks Gom. We will be sure to research your posts and torture you with your own words.
  19. Aren't aces supposed to win big games like Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry, Josh Beckett* and Curt Schilling*? * Still active
  20. I guess Giggling is just one of the many intangibles that he brings to the table. Like I said before. Manny would have been dissected like a lab animal if he had done that.
  21. No Yankee fan noticed the Jeter Giggles. Hmmm. What did my Sox fan brethren think about it. I thought it was really out of character in a game where the Yanks were facing elimination.
  22. I'm just glad that when he walked off the mound for the last time in a Yankee uniform that he walked off having failed his team.
