  1. It's very difficult for me to start before 7.
  2. A couple of years ago, I went to Fenway on a Saturday afternoon after Colon had pitched either on Thursday or Friday. He was shagging fly balls in CF with the other OFers. He could chase down the ball, and he made some really good catches. I remember thinking that he was not just a fat pitcher, but that he was a very talented athlete in a fatman's body.
  3. It's not semantics. It's math. It's counting. It's a fact. The year 2000 is not part of this century or millenium. The Yankees have no champonships this century or this millenium. 2000 is also more than 7 years ago.
  4. This is pretty dumb. Is he he 6'4" and 270? He doesn't have the ability. Gom, I hate to break this to you, but notice that the past tense is being used.
  5. Are there more Red Sox fans than Yankee fans? Who knows, but that is not what Red Sox Nation is all about. The Red Sox are a team that is more than 100 years old (they predate the Yankees). They have shared the New England region with no other team for more than 50 years. Before that the Boston Braves never really challenged the Red Sox for the attention of New England. The Yankees had to compete with the Dodgers and Giants until the late 50's. Since then, they have shared the city with the Mets who have their own sizable fan base. The Red Sox are it in New England, and since it is a very old franchise, there are millions of of fans who have carried their New England roots (including their love for the Sawx) around the country and world. The Yankees have never even owned NY never mind an entire region of the country. Many still consider NY to be an NL town going back to the days of the Dodgers and Giants.
  6. I am not dwelling on those 86 years, but you are apparently stuck in the 90's.
  7. Four out of Five like you just did? That string started 12 years ago and it ended 7 years ago. Not too many guys from those teams are still active. You can see more of them at old-timers days than in regular season games. Jeesh, get current. Everyone admired those Yankee teams because it was thought that they played the game the right way, but now we find out that the clubhouse was like a crack-den with a perjurer leading the rotation.
  8. Congress asking the Justice Department to investigate Clemens for perjury. The Rockets march to prison continues. What's funny is that he is doing this voluntarily. What a tool! http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7840862/Report:-Congress-drafts-letter-to-feds-in-Clemens-case
  9. Gom, it would be nice if your father sees a clincher in person, but you'll have a better chance if you convert him to a Red Sox fan.
  10. Did he have shoulder surgery, and if so, when did he have it? I remember watching him throw 95-97 during the the World Baseball Classic in 2006. I remember thinking that he was going to ruin his arm considering that he had already had shoulder problems. Unless this guy's shoulder is badly damaged, this could turn out well, because he will work hard to re-establish his career and get a better contract in 2009.
  11. Clemens looking like a bigger and bigger ass all the time. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7831110/Attorney:-Maybe-Rocket-was-at-Canseco's-party-
  12. I was talking about Manny. The Yanks will not get him for $13 million. It would take more like $18 - 20 million. Add that to the $13 and $14 million that Damon and Godzilla make and you would be spending $47 million on 3 LF's over age 35.
  13. So, then you would have 3 leftfielders making roughly $48 milion, or he could share DH with Giambi.
  14. Farnsworth and Moose could be problems. Considering that they both stink, Girardi may lose patience with them quickly.
  15. The players in Florida hated the Girardi.
  16. Girardi is a petty prick. He'd never get along with Bonds.
  17. Welcome. There are lots of strange roads to Red Sox Nation. All that matters now is that you love the Sawx. I can understand your sadness that your grandfather wasn't there to see 2004. One of the big joys for me was that my dad age 86 at the time (yes born in 1918, but after the baseball season) did live to see it. Right after the last out was recorded he called me. It was a special moment.
  18. That would be fun, but it is much more likely that Clemens will have to stand on the front steps of a court house and apologize to his family, friends, team mates and fans for letting them down after he pleads to a perjury conviction.
  19. Clemens moving closer to a perjury charge, as there are reportedly pictures of him at the Canseco party. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7828840/Report:-Picture-puts-Clemens-at-Canseco-party
