Does Girardi have another team meeting today? JayHawk Bill and I have had a difference of opinion about Girardi's meeting after game 1. One of the things that I have been hearing today from both the Red Sox and Yankee media is that it is not a very good idea to have a closed clubhouse team meeting the night before you face the other team's ace when you are sending a marginal major leaguer to oppose him.

The Rays are winning again against KC. The Yanks need to take the next two against the Red Sox and beat the Rays twice to keep from falling out of the race.

Two in a row against the Yanks. Tomorrow we throw them some raw meat with Masterson. Yanks should bust out against him, but who knows. Maybe Manny breaks out of his slump at the sight of Moose.

f*** the umps, f*** George and Hank. We won. This game seemed to be officiated in a very one-sided manner. I know that I am biased, but there was more than one call where the correct result was clear to the naked eye, but the umps went the other way.

Melky just could not cope with Papelbon's fastball. He did well to foul off a number of pitches. I am glad that they didn't go to the offspeed stuff in that AB. It would have been the only chance he had.
