Bucholz has been very consistent and very sharp this spring. He had another very good outing today. His ERA this spring is 0.46. His command of the fastball has been very good, which makes his curve and changeup very effective. He has got to be the leading candidate for the 5th rotation spot if Penny is not ready when camp breaks.

Wilkerson has lost any chance of making the team IMO. He has the better glove than Bailey or Carter, but that is not saying much. My money is on Carter because of his explosive power.

Will Girardi have the onions to move Jeter off SS this season, because if he stays at SS, the Yankees will finish out of the playoffs again. He looked like a dinosaur at the WBC.

It's your opinion that he stole the $ because he bad mouthed the FO when they insisted that he rehab. That makes no sense, because he did the rehab like the FO wanted and all that was proved was that Schilling and his Doctor were right. So, how did he steal their money? Just quit on this issue before you make a bigger ass of yourself.

No it was not. His doctor claimed that he could have rehabbed and been ready for September. In the end, his doctor was right that he would not be able to pitch without surgery.

In either case, there was no chance of him pitching without the surgery, so what is your point about his disagreement with the FO regarding the course of medical treatment?

His doctor proved to be right that he would not be able to rehab the shoulder without surgery. If the FO and medical staff had let him get the surgery right away maybe he could have been ready for the September stretch drive. You argument is getting weaker with each post.

It's a business. The Red Sox made a bad deal. Curt made a good deal. The blame is at the feet of the FO and the medical staff.

Even today, not that many balls go 450+. After all these years, it was still a big deal when someone hit a shot into the black seats. Edit: No one hit the ball further than Mantle, not even the genetically engineered monsters.

When I was in Ft. Myers he hadn't yet appeared in a game, but I have seen him once or twice on TV. He was never a Gazelle, but at least he doesn't look like a wounded animal out there. He looks to be moving as well as he did before the injury. His bat certainly has been hot right out of the box. That's really good news.
