    When they came out to take off the tarp to start the game, it started to rain. Then it looked like they were putting it back on and then off and back again. When they had that big 3rd inning, I was rooting for our guys to make out at the end, because you could tell that the mist was getting heavier and Beckett had to get through 2 more innings for the game to be official. I think everyone left when they put the tarp on in the 6th. If they had resumed the game, there would have been about 10 people left in the park.

    I called 'em dead two weeks ago. I'm never wrong when I call a team dead, including our own Sox. They are dead, dead, dead!!! But Big Papi David Ortiz' bat is not dead.

    Until now it has been the Braves and they are usually better than the Mets. I guess since Philly is now better than the Braves they'll make the Phillies our natural rival. Who knows?

    That's because in 2006 his arm was hanging by a thread, and 2007 and 2008 he had and was recovering from surgery. Now he is recovered, and he looks stronger and more consistent with his velocity since probably 2003.

    He's probably on a pitch count of 75 pitches, which should get him through about 1 2/3 innings.

    Your opinion about Pedro might change if he takes an AL team to school in the World Series this year. Pedro was still successful in the AL when he wasn't regularly hitting 91 on the gun. There's no reason to believe that he wouldn't be successful in the AL with what he has now. He's certainly good enough to be a #5. We paid $10.5 million on busted #5's this year. I am pretty sure that Pedro would take a $5 million guarantee next season. Have any of our pitchers thrown 130 pitches in a game this season?

    As long as you can talk sports, you are good here. A 19 year old who has an opinion about Wilt the Stilt is okay with me. The picture with the tongue was a nice touch and showed that you are a good sport. And yes, it should get you some latitude, not that you need any.

    As I predicted two weeks ago, the Rangers have faded. At 5 games down in the loss column, they are dead. Even if we get swept by the Angels, that would not be enough to revive the Rangers.

    Girardi will make some bonehead move, ARod will hit into a double play or strike out with a tying run on 3rd and Burnett will implode. Girardi will get thrown out of the deciding game, and the Yanks will exit in the first round.
