  1. He is useless at the plate. He is having trouble blocking balls, and he couldn't throw out a one-legged runner. He only does 2 things well-- catch foul pops and block the plate.
  2. I thought that they also celebrated clinching the playoff spot in 2007, but that it was not a long celebration because they would be celebrating again in a few days. BTW the did win the East Division one other time during the Wild Card era-- 1995. The Yankees were the Wild Card team that year.
  3. One of the two things that Varitek still does well-- catching a popup.
  4. 5-0 almost to Tito's magic #.
  5. Tito will leave Byrd in until he has given up 7 runs.
  6. If the Yanks are too arrogant to celebrate a playoff birth, maybe we could help them not celebrate at all by letting them choke the divsion championship to us.
  7. I do live in NY. Why don't we meet to have a drink?
  8. Stop this.
  9. Varitek is in tonight's lineup. No Lowell. How foolish will Greinke make varitek look?
  10. Do you think his arm is healthy?
  11. As Yogi says: "It ain't over till it's over."
  12. While it would be a long shot for both of those things to happen, it is far from being a prohibitive long shot.
  13. No matter how you slice it, if the Yankees were to lose the Division after leading by 8 games in September, it would take a monumental collapse. It would be very interesting if the Yanks blew the division. I believe that they have already clinched a playoff spot, but they have not had a celebration. I guess they are waiting to clinch the Division. If they blow that, they will go to the playoffs without having celebrated anything. That would be very strange.
  14. This was definitely a missed opportunity, but if the yankees keep losing... who knows?
  15. This could be a Nick green Night.
  16. This one is ovah. KC gets a gift-wrapped victory courtesy of 9 free passes. Time to send Wakefield for the surgery. He can't be sent to the hill anymore this year. He can't move, and now it is affecting his strike throwing.
  17. When you get 9 runs you should win. Tito let this get out of hand.
  18. That was a major league wild pitch. I don't think that I have seen a worse pitch. lol!
  19. A terrible missed opportunity.
