  1. Nerd in booth discussing how the 2019 season was blown in Spring Training and April.
  2. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/08/red-sox-interested-in-jhoulys-chacin.html
  3. The regular announcers are back. Who were those guys in Colorado and why?
  4. Who are these guys the last 2 nights? What happened to the usual announcers?
  5. Someone voted to keep it. What do you like about it?
  6. There are just too many weekends that MLB suits up in uniforms other than their traditional unis. They wear pink on Mother's Day weekend, blue on Fathers Day weekend, Cammo on Memorial Day weekend, Red White and Blue on 4th of July, and the hideous monochrome on Player's Weekend. Am I missing any? Almost 25% of the Weekends are gimmick uniforms. The Mets announcers yesterday commented that Pete Alonso will have the opportunity to set the Met season HR record in their traditional uniforms. When he breaks it, that will be a highlight that will be replayed possibly for many years. Who wants to memorialize that moment in a monochromatic white.
  7. Players Weekend ruined baseball for me this weekend. I have MLB TV and flip channels from game to game. I had no idea what game I was watching and couldn't figure out which team was which. Add to that, I couldn't see the numbers on the stupid white monochrome uniforms, so I had no idea who the players were. When I watch games, I want to see the traditional uniforms. I want to see the pinstripes when the Yankees are playing, the green and gold hideousness of the A's unis, the black and orange Oriole bird, the Mets orange and blue, the Giants' black and orange, etc. All in all, it sucked, and I couldn't care less about the stupid nicknames on the uniforms, especially those in languages other than English. I realize that is a microaggression to College students and recent college graduates, but it isn't. Simply, if I can't understand the nickname on the uniform or pronounce it, it means nothing to me and can't possibly add to my enjoyment of the game. But then again, players weekend isn't about the enjoyment of the fans. It is about the enjoyment of players. The same can be said about players' walk up music. That is for the players' enjoyment. I don't get it. The game is a business for the owners and players, and it is a very high paying business. The entertainment that the business provides is supposed to be directed at the fans -- the paying customers. It is a complete loss of focus by the Business side of baseball on what their business is.
  8. I hope JD opts out so we can save all that money and get a draft choice that we can use to draft the next Lars Anderson. You would have to be a complete knucklehead to hope that JF and his wrecking ball of a bat would opt out.
  9. It's on DD and to a lesser degree Cora
  10. Agreed, but DD doing nothing had no chance of success. I also think Cora gave Porcello too much rope. I think Porcello should just get a nice cake and a goodbye card at the end of the season. I have no desire to see him come back.
  11. If DD had filled the 5th spot and acquired some starting depth, built a major league bullpen, and Cora had put Porcello in the bullpen right after the All Star Break, we would be a Wild Card team at this juncture.
  12. If I can get on his charter flight, I will gladly take the harangue. LOL!
  13. Mejia was a complete bust. I was hoping that he would play a role on the big club. He is 2-7 with a 6.52 ERA with Pawtucket. Yuk!
  14. Hating the Yankees is sour grapes? I only regret that the last 3 years when we were above them in the standings that I didn't rub their faces in it more.
  15. The whole organization has given up this season. I went on the website to check the schedule to see when the Giants are in town in September and noticed that the website only lists the 2020 schedule in the drop-down menu.
  16. Happy 80th to the man who gave birth to Red Sox Nation! A man called Yaz.
  17. That will happen when you don't have a 5th starter and your 4th starter has gone into the abyss.
  18. Bradley is back in a hot streak.
  19. That is really terrible, just awful. I offer my sincere condolences.
  20. Glad you took it in the spirit in which it was intended.
  21. And these metrics look even better if you look at them from May 1st to the present.
  22. Orioles must be kicking themselves. They never gave him a shot, and they gave him away. Much of it can be blamed on that douche Showalter.
