  1. Even Kim Jones is giving Girardi a hard time about the play at the plate.
  2. You are a big Red Sox fan who claims to have a lot of knowledge about the Sox and baseball, but you are asking "what leak?" about Bay's knees. I know who you are.
  3. He used to say "relax" a lot too.
  4. Boy, Joba looks like s***.
  5. The entire plate was open and the catcher was on the first base side of the plate.
  6. Wasn't attempting to block the plate. Not any portion of the plate. It's quite clear.
  7. Ken Singleton said that he thought Tex might have been sending a message, because he was going to be safe either way. What message do you think he might have been trying to send? He wanted to give the guy a good lick that was completely unnecessary. I don't think he wanted it to feel good. Do you?
  8. The Yankee announcers' analysis said it all. When a runner is coming to the plate, the one thing he notices is where the catcher is and whether he can see the plate. The whole plate was open and the catcher was on the first base side of the plate. Tex actually stepped over the plate to hammer the catcher. This was not a bang bang play where the catcher was blocking the plate or the baseline. Sorry, but this was egregiously dirty and the YES announcers called it the right way.
  9. Here's the link to the video of the play with the Yankee announcers commentary. make your own decision. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7620275
  10. You don't remember as much of the pre-Papelbon days as I do. He set the bar very high. The fact that he is not performing at that ungodly level doesn't mean that he is still not an extraordinary level. He is still better than anyone that I can remember in his prime.
