    A year or two ago, they could have gotten a player that mattered in return for MDC. They sold low. It proves the old Branch Rickey truism: it's better to trade a player a year too soon rather than a year too late.

    What is the book on the Drew catch? Should he have let it drop foul? Eck says he doesn't know what the book is on that. I wonder what Buch was thinking when Drew caught the ball? He can't say anything even if he disagreed with Drew catching it.

    Spud and I have seen this kind of s*** so many times over 40+ years that it is like water off a duck's back. It's no big deal to us anymore. Plus, the vodka helps.

    Tito had a Grady Little moment, but at least he had two championships on his resume before he had one of those moments.

    Chalk this up to the bullpen. It's been a parade of pigs to the mound all season long with the exception of Bard and Papelbon. That might have been the last truly meaningful game that they play this season.
