  1. LOL! Dutchy, your nuts. Why would I complain about not getting Damon? They tried to get him, but Damon turned it down. I posted earlier that Damon is dead to me. Someone posted as a joke that Damon would've gotten a hit there. I decided to comment that Damon really hit into very few DPs. You challenged that statement. I produced the facts to show that my statement was factually correct. I compared Damon's DPs to Nava's since Nava's DP brought up Damon's name to start. Not complaining. Just showing the facts. Damon is dead to me. I hope he goes hitless the rest of the season and he gets benched.
  2. That would be great, but we can't even sweep Seattle at Fenway. I think a sweep this weekend is a long shot.
  3. Nava has hit into 4 DPs in about 100 ABs. Damon has hit into 3 in over 400 ABs.
  4. The 9 was a career high for Damon. It probably went up hitting in the second hole, but it is still a much lower rate than Jeter's rate who has been hitting into an average of more than 20 a year for the last 4 years. He's at 18 already this year. Damon's DP's have been a rare thing throughout his career compared to most players. He averages 6/yr. That's very low for a guy with as many plate appearances as he has each year. I would call it a rare occurrence. I am not making up the reason why the Yanks flip flopped Damon and Jeter. The DPs was the stated reason.
  5. We actually picked up a half game in the standings for the day-- 0 in the important loss column. We had gained a game in the loss column after game 1, but we lost it back with the night cap. It's imperative that we sweep this weekend.
  6. Jeter had hit into 24 DP s the year before they made the switch.
  7. Beltre's absence should not be overlooked as a cause for this loss. It was a close game and one clutch hit could have changed the outcome.
  8. The Yankees switched Jeter to lead off and Damon to second in the order, because Jeter had killed too many rallies in recent years with the DP. Damon rarely hits into DP's.
  9. Well, that will not help his prospects for next year.
  10. You don't mess around when it comes to the Sox and mojo. One of our favorite scrubs is up. Nava.
  11. He scalded that ball. Damn it!!!
  12. Go...get outa here ... you clutch bastard!
  13. VMart looks like a drunk tonight at first base.
  14. Vasquez in relief.
  15. I'm just bitter with disappointment.
  16. If Lester had pitched the nightcap, we would have had a great chance of sweeping this doubleheader and not lose back the ground we gained. f*** Dice k.
  17. Tito take out the starter after 4 runs?
  18. The pitch to Wells was up in his eyes.
  19. Yanks down 4-0 on a Vernon Wells 2-run bomb in the 3rd.
  20. Cash reaches on an error. I had no line on that.
