  1. The only strip joints that I have been to weren't that great. I don't get to go to them much as i am usually with the wife and/or kids when I visit Boston. There are all sorts of bars and nightlife. I like Remy's on Boylston, because it has a tone of flat screen TVs and dozens of beers. Have fun.
  2. If Martin broke down, we still would have had Salty in the minors.
  3. I will not be at tonight's game, so there will be no "in-person" mojo. I am hoping that Mush reverse lock mojo will work. My Met fan friend is a big gambler. Tonight he is looking to play a parlay taking the Brewers and the Yankees. He figures that Wakefield will get lit up. My friend tends to be like the Mush character in the Bronx Tale-- a guy who couldn't pick the winner of a one horse race. Last night, he couldn't get service at the Stadium in time to put his bets in. Last night's locks for him were the Brewers at home and the Phillies. Both lost, so we have a chance tonight.
  4. "Attack" was a poor choice of words on my part. I was not offended, but dissecting strategy moves is legitimate discussion, and since even very good teams will lose 60-70 games and play dozens of other very close games, there is a lot to discuss. That's just the way it is.
  5. He's far better than Salty. It's not even close.
  6. Over the last 2-3 years, i have gotten some very good hotel deals in Boston. Use Priceline and select the "name your own price" feature. Select the 3 1/2 to 4 star categories and select the Copely Square area. I have been getting 4 star hotels for as little as $85/night, but mostly in the $100-125 range. Those are bargain prices. I have stayed in the Sheraton and Hilton on Dalton Street, the Colonade, Boston park Plaza, Copely Marriott and the Westin. All very nice and all conveniently located within a 15-20 minute walk to Fenway.
  7. It would be nice if you just addressed my strategy question instead of leveling an attack at me. First of all, this strategy of holding the runner in the 9th inning with a 2 run lead or more while playing double play depth and opening up the second base hole is something that I see throughout baseball. Me and my friend notice it and it baffles us, especially when a lefty is up. If you would like to address yourself to the strategy question, I look forward to reading your thoughts. As for criticizing Tito, he is my all-time favorite Red Sox manager, but that doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot when it comes to game decisions. I'm not the only one who notices, and it is a legitimate topic for debate. If you don't want to engage in it, you don't have to, but don't tell me who or what I can criticize. That is getting old.
  8. My observation about the New Yankee Stadium is that it is not the intimidating venue for opponents like the old stadium. It is not intimidating at all. The place is so big and open with its open air concourses that fan noise disperses, whereas the fan noise in the old place stayed concentrated and directed at the playing field. The crowd is also much more mellow. I was in the upper deck, so I expected to see plenty of fierce hatred. It was quite the opposite. It was a very pink hat-type crowd. They were having an evening out as opposed to watching a fierce tense rivalry. My Met fan friend note the same thing. It could be that they priced out the Hooligans. The upper deck seat was $40 in LF. The advantage that the Yankees used to get from the 10th man, i.e. the crowd, no longer exists.
  9. In the 9th inning why would Tito hold the runner Gardner with no one out and play DP depth leaving the second base hole wide open. Jeter in that situation is like a pull lefthanded hitter. He always goes to RF in that situation and he flew out to RF. We opened up the second base hole for him. With a 3 run lead, aren't outs more important? After Jeter flew out, they played behind the runner and closed up the second base hole when Granderson was up. Why do it when Granderson was up, but not for Jeter? Was the came going fast for Tito, or did he just wake up when Granderson was batting?
  10. But Russell Martin is a constant reminder that Theo was wrong.
  11. He's very delicate, and still has not proved himself to be an everyday player.
  12. Finish him please!
  13. Three hits from that f***ing corpse. Plus a walkB
  14. Why would Tito hold the runner and play DP depth leaving the second base hole wide open. With Graderson, they play behind the runner and close up the second base hole.
  15. Strikes!! Please!
  16. You never make the third out at third. He hadn't hit 2nd when Granderson got to the ball.
  17. What's wrong with him?
  18. Jenks just got up to warm. Nice play by AGon. Lester is gassed. He wasn't getting there in time.
