  1. He has 183 wins with the Red Sox. He has 197 total wins. He pitched for the Pirates before he pitched for the Red Sox.
  2. Versatility is the key with Sutton. He plays 4 IF positions poorly. Love that Dirty Water!!!
  3. Drew has hit the ball very hard today. We are going to need him to get hot for interleague away games with Papi or AGon having to sit and Crawford out.
  4. Wake pitched a very nice game. He'll need 3 more wins to get to 200.
  5. Reddick has a live bat.
  6. This game is far from over with Wakefield on the mound.
  7. I've never posted anything about Iggy being the Sox future at SS. Until he proves that he can hit, he his a Rey Ordonez type player to me.
  8. The media outlets have been manipulated by the Mets for years. I give little or no credence to their stories about the Mets. I know people in the Mets organization and I have close friends that know other Met FO personnel. At this time the organization is in disarray, and it has been ever since the Madoff scandal first broke. There have been meetings with the Commissioner's office since 2009 about the financial condition of the ownership. These meetings have not been publicized. Believe what you want to believe about trade rumors. The Mets will keep Beltran and/or Reyes if the Mets are still in the playoff hunt and their ticket sales are spiking at the trade deadline. If the ticket sales are not improving, one or both players will be dumped for money. Prospects will be inconsequential. Beltran will be most important to move, because he is much more expensive and injury prone. If the Mets are looking to move these guys at the deadline, the Red Sox need only bring their checkbooks.
  9. I'm glad that someone here gets me.
  10. Crawford is the better investment. Reyes has had trouble staying on the field. Crawford has been consistently excellent year in and year out.
  11. With our pitchers having to bat in NL parks, either Ortiz or Agon will have to sit. Taking Crawford out of the lineup leaves us with a much much weaker lineup with Drew, Scutaro, Tek/Salty, McDonald/Cameron and the pitcher as the bottom 5 in the lineup. The top 4 hitters will have to be red hot. I think it is a very bad time for Crawford to be on the shelf.
  12. ... and the Mets FO has no interest... none. Their interest is $.
  13. If the Mets stay in the Wild Card hunt, they may not deal either player if the fans start coming out and ticket sales go up. If ticket revenues are not increasing as the deadline approaches, they will not worry about a fan backlash and they will offload one or both players. They will not get a major leaguer, a major league ready prospect , or any blue chip prospect(s) in return. They will dump as much of their salaries as they can. Essentially they will go to the highest bidders. We don't have to worry about depleting our farm system. If we take Beltran's salary, we could make up two fictional prospects for the Mets to put in the press release.
  14. The Sox are ceative and the Mets FO has a talent and proclivity to deceive their fans. We can wait and hope.
  15. The solution to #3 is easy. Iglesias is off the table for a 3 month rental. If it is atrade and sign, that's a different story, but Reyes will want to test the market. No one is going to part with a major league ready prospect like Iglesias for a rental.
  16. I hope they get him. He is a dynamic player and a big talent.
  17. He'll need less than 300 hits after this season. He could do that in 2 seasons. I think he hangs on, and I think someone will have a slot for him. If he gets it, he goes to Cooperstown.
