  1. The sold a portion of the team because they were having trouble making payroll. They had received money from MLB in 2010 to help their liquidity problems. They came back the following year and MLB told them that they were cutting them off and left them with no alternative other than to take on a partner. The $200 million they got from the new partners is not a sign of financial health. It is quite the opposite. They have to repay the $200 in 2 years or lose control of the team. It is estimated that they will lose $79 million this year. The facts are pretty clear. They need money, not prospects.
  2. Jeter is back and ARod is gone. As expected the Yankees start to slump.
  3. You don't wait until the guy walks 5 guys in less than 3 innings.
  4. If Tito hadn't let the starter give up 7, we might have been able to come back and win this game.
  5. Is this: consistent at all with this: Go pick your fight elsewhere. You are back on ignore.
  6. Post a picture of yourself so you can get banned again. I am putting you on my ignore list. You'll be gone soon enough because you just can't help yourself. edit: You are the first poster that I have put on the list in over 25,000 posts.
  7. There have been plenty of stories speculating that they will ultimately have to sell the team. The recently invested partner has placed a sizable wager on that outcome. Didn't you read about that either? Did you read that they had borrowed money from MLB, and that MLB cut them off and told them to take on a partner? You haven't changed a bit.
  8. 4 homers by our guys tonight and we are getting our brains beat out.
  9. You are Dutchy. Definitely. BTW: One of the first things that comes up if you do a Google search about Wilpon's finances is the video from the Wall Street Journal in the attached article. He references the several stories, the $700 million and many of the things that i have referenced. There's a start to your research. I already read the stories and heard the reports. Find them for yourself Dutchy. I await your departure and next incarnation. http://www.amazinavenue.com/2011/2/3/1973761/the-mets-fred-wilpon-bernie-madoff-situation-explained-in-three
  10. I was minformed Dutchy. Same old Dutchy.
  11. Dempster pitched 8 innings of shutout ball today with 9 k's and no walks.
  12. He does stink. That is why I am very happy with .250 from him.
  13. Yes, I am making it up. I have a vendetta against the Wilpons. Google it yourself. The possibility of them being forced to sell the team has been speculated about several times in the last couple of years. Dutchy, are you going to ask me for proof of my employment like you have done in the past? It's too funny how you always gravitate back to this forum.
  14. Plus, lots of retirees.
  15. If I would be happy if he hits .250 and he is hitting .251, what do you think?
  16. Do your own research Dutchy. He has also been reported to have lost $700 million in the Madoff Ponzi scheme. That will put a crimp in the style of a billionaire. Fact is that he had to take on a partner. The partner is hoping to gain a controlling interest in the team. Do you think he took on the partner because he was looking for a lunch buddy? The stories about his financial woes have been out there for over 2 years.
  17. I said that I would be happy if he hit .250. Do you think I was lying?
  18. I'm happy if he hits .250
  19. I know. I have been watching the game.
  20. Freddie Garcia has done very well for the Yankees with the exception of tonight and he sits at 84-86. He knows how to pitch.
