  1. Don't break out the champagne just yet, Wake.
  2. At the Trading Deadline, we needed a RF and a back of the rotation starter in case Buchholz couldn't make it back. They didn't get the RF and they got a pitcher made of glass with a bum knee. Bad Theo. Bad Theo. John Henry would you put up with this type of performance from one of your Hedge Fund managers? Oh, I forgot. . . That business pretty much went bust on you. Anyway, get your head out of your ass. You have clearly lost your business edge-- the killer instinct. Theo should be booted out the door with a copy of Dice K's contract sticking out of his ass. John Henry, success has made you soft. You have become to aristocratic too genteel. You need a shrewd city kid to run that organization. Your Ivy leaguers Brie eating wusses are patsies and are not up to the job.
  3. I might actually chuckle if Bard gives up a bomb here and Wake doesn't get the win.
  4. I hope he gets #200 tonight, but he absolutely sucks.
  5. Wakefield will never get #200.
  6. We can pick up a game on the Skanks if Old Man River Wakefield can finally win #200 tonight.
  7. But it is the job of the FO to make sure that the team has the depth to withstand injuries. They fail in that regard year after year. Anyway, I am available to right this ship, but they need to know that I am nulling other offers. Of course I don't have such a lofty degree as Theo's degree in Social Work. Lol!
  8. To Paraphrase Dick Cheney, the above post should have the heads of Theo's fanboys exploding all over Boston. Enough is enough. It has happened too often on Theo's watch where the Sox have limped to the finish-- 2006, 2010 and now 2011. The owners have to consider trusting someone else with a $170-180 million payroll-- someone who knows how to build a roster.
  9. If he is out more than 2 weeks we're screwed. I remember my bad sprains. I did feel a popping sensation as if something became dislocated. As Jacko explained, there is no ankle joint so you can't have it pop out of a socket. The popping sensation is probably the ligaments being torn. I sprained me left ankle twice. Once it took 6 weeks - that time I was on crutches. The second time it took about 3 weeks, but I didn't have to subject it to the rigors that a power pitcher does at the ML level. The way this team is limping to the finish line is not encouraging. We may get extremely lucky and everyone, including Buchholz is healthy for the playoffs, or they may stay battered and bruised and get ousted in the first round. In any event, the FO did not do the necessary reinforcing at the trading deadline. Connor Jackson is a joke. Unbelievably, they would have been better off if they had kept Cameron. He's twice the player that Jackson will ever be. It's ridiculous that they cut him to downgrade at that position. Bedard was damaged. His knee should've been checked out more carefully. The Sox were very lucky that they really had no injuries in the first half of the season except Dice K, and that was addition by subtraction. The Yankees had several injuries: Hughes, Soriano, Jeter and Joba all in the first half. They had real depth and stayed even with us. Now, it is our turn for the injuries and we have to turn to untested rookies and garbage. They spent a lot of money on this team, but they didn't stock it with any depth. The bench and pitching depth has been horrendous. In a year where we make a huge off season splash, Cashman once again ate Theo's lunch. If Theo wants to go to the Cubs, let him go and bring Wakefield and Miller with him. Cashman would probably take the Sox job.
  10. This ankle sprain could be more problematic than indicated by the official statement.
  11. I guess that Ozzie is having a good laugh about this.
  12. If Beckett and Bedard start missing starts and we have to rollout a rotation of Lester, Lackey, Wakefield, Miller and Weiland for the next week or so with 8 games upcoming against the Rays and a 7 game lead, a collapse would not be shocking to me.
  13. I heard that he was moved from the 60 day DL to the 365 day Morbidly Obese List (MOL) to clear roster room.
  14. Cameron is twice the player that this guy is. Let me get this straight. They cut Cameron so they could downgrade? It's really ridiculous when you think about it.
  15. He's being bumped back a day from his next start. His knee is bothering him.
