  1. I think Bedard is through for the night. Tito had better get him now before this becomes a 6-1 game.
  2. This is what happens when kids are playing key roles in big games. It's growing pains and it can cost you.
  3. The AB by Andino was the turning point in Bedard's outing. It fatigued him. He's lost his sharpness. He might not make it through the 4th.
  4. More circus play in the OF. There has been too much of that recently. Unacceptable. This is the major leagues.
  5. We've left too many on base, and this inning Bedard has thrown way too many pitches. It will be very hard for him to go deep in this game.
  6. Is it really that hard to find a cheap alternative to a guy who has pitched to a 5+ ERA who can't keep his team in games? His team's record in games that he started over the last 2 seasons has been 18-23. Would it really be that hard to replace such a guy?
  7. It might be a case of whiplash from all the HR's and wall balls given up by our pitching staff.
  8. He's been done for 2 seasons. He's been embarrassing himself and costing his team games.
  9. E1 is a cockeyed optimist when it comes to the Sox-- a true Diehard Sox fan and a very knowledgeable baseball fan, but sometimes he avoids the harsher realities of the game, especially when it comes to the Yankees.
  10. I could see him piggy-backing Aceves and Buchholz in a game with Buchholz coming out of the pen. I think Aceves would be the starter, not Buchholz. As for Lackey not making the post season roster, I don't think there is a chance of that unless he gets injured. I'd be willing to wager on that one. If they leave anyone of the post season roster, it should be Wakefield. He's completely useless at this point.
  11. I can't see that happening, because it would require Tito to think and not just push a button. It's a good idea. If it gets traction in the press, he might be pressured by Theo to do it.
  12. Unless this team quickly pulls itself out of this nosedive, Tito will be making more and more of these stupid post-game remarks. He also said the other day that this will make them stronger. I told you this would happen. I am waiting for him to say that this will make the champagne taste even sweeter. I believe that was Willie Randolph's final stupid statement before the 2007 Mets season was flushed down the toilet. This team desperately needs to take the remaining games against Baltimore at home. If they don't keep control of their own destiny, they will be finished. Today on WFAN, the morning hosts noted that it is just a matter of time for the Yanks to clinch, and all that remains for them is how they want to finish the season and what kind of impact they want to have on the wild card race. They are openly acknowledging that the Yanks may not fight the Rays too hard. I am still hopeful, but very worried. If they lose control of their destiny as this homestand concludes, the cockeyed optimists had better prepare for an ass-reaming, because it will end ugly.
  13. The spaz with a diving catch and a Grand Slam.
  14. Tito is pinch running for AGon. I guess he thinks the win is sewn up.
  15. They said he was warming up.
  16. If the Sox lose this game, I think it will effectively be a death blow.
  17. Because he was getting outs. We can't have that.
  18. How much does WAR say that Lackey is worth?
  19. Tito is just going to let this game slip away?
  20. Millwood is 3-2 with a 3.68. He has 4 Quality Starts in 7 starts. He has worked into the 6th inning in each of his 7 starts.
