  1. Where did you get this soothsaying thing from my post. I was recapping the off season and how it has developed or not developed to this point. Welcome to MVP's world of making s*** up.
  2. I was asking a question, because you are always challenging Fred's fandom. Can't you be asked a question without this garbage ^ asshat.
  3. The closer a person lives to Fenway gives them more of a claim to being a Red Sox fan?
  4. Some genetic traits don't get passed on. Apparently that big old bucket shaped head is a dominant gene in the Youkilis family. It would would look really bad on a girl.
  5. Todd Walker not only hit poorly, but he could no longer play adequate defense. Hitting poorly in Spring Training would probably not be sufficient to prove lack of sufficient skill in light of his history of starting slowly. Anyone who thinks cutting Ortiz in Spring Training is a possibility is out on crazy island.
  6. Some people urged patience and extolled Benny Boy's measured careful approach. They said it 's just Thanksgiving. No one is making major moves. Then it was, it's only Christmas. There's plenty of time and plenty available options. Well, here we are at Truck Day, and we still don't have our pitching situation settled. We came into the off season needing 2 -3 pitchers at a minimum. We lost two pitchers-- Wheeler and Papelbon, and we picked up 2 pitchers Melancon and Bailey. We are still short. There are only a few days left. Oswalt is low hanging fruit. I am getting sick of the "he doesn't want to pitch in Boston" stories in the press. The guy is a professional without too many suitors. All the big boys are out of the hunt. They need to sign this guy. Time is getting damn short. This team is much thinner than the roster that collapsed last year. What are they thinking. Do they think Bobby V can use smoke and mirrors every 5th day? I'm not seeing the plan if they don't get Oswalt.
  7. I've been at Yankee Stadium many times when that kind of thing happened. All you can do is tell the guy that there are kids in the crowd. Other than that, if they call our guys bums. who cares. Some people don't like if you root for your team even if you are not bashing their team. There are a lot of hot heads out there. Just because something pisses people off doesn't mean they are right to be pissed off. Edit: Anyone who fights with another person for yelling at players is a major jackass.
  8. If they say bad things about him, he might pout if he wins.
  9. JH will do a lot of screaming and yelling if Ortiz wins his hearing.
  10. Prices usually come down on stub hub during the week of the game, and you can get some good buys. However, with a a big game like this, the high prices might hold. You probably won't do worse if you wait, but you could do better. It's not an easy call.
  11. I've got several games available for face value. PM me if you are interested.
  12. Is Brady's sister tough?
  13. Seriously, it doesn't give you the right to get personal with posters. Otherwise, this place will degenerate into a free for all.
  14. It's not so much that his knuckler doesn't knuckle. His real problem is directly attributable to his age. Either due to back trouble or aging legs, he can't get his pitches down with any consistency. Even a dancing knuckler might as well be sitting on a tee if is thrown above the belt.
  15. Hopefully Wake will pick up a bad case of career ending nail fungus so we are spared more forfeit games by sending him to the hill. Enough already. Unlike others, I don't blame Wake for wanting to play. Being an MLB player is an incredible lifestyle, and once it's over there is no going back. Most players have to have the uniform torn from their backs. It's up to Ben to tear off his uniform. When it happens, hopefully, Wakefield will handle it with dignity. Not everyone does. I remember a crippled one-legged empty shell Bill Buckner launching into a tirade after the Sox cut him after a second tour of duty with the team. He was brought back as a way of mending fences even though his tank was empty. He hit .150 or something like that and he was released. He bitterly told the press that the Sox would regret that. He never played MLB again. He left in a very undignified manner.
