  1. If he's league average, he's adequate and tall. If he isn't league average, he sucks.
  2. UN, i don't know what you are posting after my posts, and. I don't care.
  3. This argument should be in the cut the crap thread.
  4. One comment on this whole argument that started because one poster essentially said that Miller stinks and would never amount to anything. The important part of that statement was that he stinks, but we have been engaged in a ridiculous argument for 2 days about whether "never" means "never". I have seen this argument many times from Dutchy, Imperial59, YazSideburn and atWork. They always engaged in this type of argument that wastes every one's time. Feel free to debate the meaning of "always" in that statement. It is very annoying that the ignore feature is practically useless when stupidity like this is engaged in for pages. Absolute Truth: Dutchy et al = UN
  5. Relative Truth: Andrew Miller is tall Relative Truth: Andrew Mller throws hard Absolute truth: Andrew Miller throws left-handed Absolute Truth: Andrew Miller is a stinky major league pitcher
  6. Rosters are built on probabilities, and the probability of Miller becoming a good starter is remote. Can it happen? I guess so, but the odds are stacked against it.
  7. Tonight Buchholz and Padilla are scheduled to pitch. After watching yesterday's game against the Twins, I wonder if the Twins would be interested in moving Liriano. He would be a nice addition.
  8. Koufax was retired by age 31. He turned the corner much prior to age 27-- Miller's age. I hold out little hope that he can be anything more than a mopup guy and spot starter.
  9. I've watched a lot of Ross. My niece was a Marlins season ticket holder and a big fan of Ross as is my Sister in Law. The guy is hot and cold. He'll have his moments where he'll look like an All Star. If he plays 140 games for the Sox, he'll be average. If he platoons, he could have an above average season stat-wise.
  10. Lin didn't look so good in the OF today. He is just minor league filler.
  11. The site of surgery can experience swelling for an extended period of time. I have my fingers crossed that this is just part of the healing process.
  12. I like the Ross pickup, but I think his highest and best use is as a Right handed platoon player. He is not a very good every day player.
  13. Ross can have some incredible hot streaks where he is white hot. Unfortunately, those streaks don't last long, and when they are over he is not very good at all. In that regard, he reminds me of Brian Daubach. When he was hot, he looked like an All Star, but when he went cold, he looked like he had been struck blind.
  14. A knuckle curve? I wonder if he learned that pitch from Mussina when he was with the Yankees.
  15. Beckett must have dropped some weight. In the post game press conference, his face didn't look bloated like it was last year.
