  1. I'll be there next week too. There are usually some tickets available at the box office on the day of the game-- about 3 hours before game time. That's the way it was at City of Palms Park. You should call the Box Office to confirm the info. The Yankee game will be a tough ticket.
  2. We know that Doubront has major league stuff and poise on the mound. The hurdles for him are consistency and durability. Last night was a good night. He needs to build on it.
  3. In NY it is on YES. MLB has it listed too.
  4. So will Piniella be part of the Yankee broadcast team this season? That could be very annoying to listen to him and O'Neil trading hitting stories all game every game.
  5. Bowden looked good too. We are gonna need all the help we can get in the pen.
  6. Doubront was very shaky in the first inning. He threw a lot of pitches and walked 2 batters. After that, he settled in and looked very good. Hopefully, he can build on this and be the Red Sox version of 2011 Nova.
  7. Doubront and Padilla pitch against the Yanks in Tampa tonight.
  8. I hope you realize how many people's day you just ruined. It is not out of the realm. I hate to admit it, but if someone doesn't step up...
  9. It's very early, but Doubront has done poorly and so has Padilla. Padilla's stuff doesn't look good at all. Silva is out of the running. Cook looked good, but Bobby V said that he will not log enough innings in camp, so he will probably not come north. Ohlendorf is pitching today. He is behind the other pitcher, so he probably can't get enough innings to be ready by April. Aceves has looked good, but taking him from the bullpen would be a big blow to the pen. It doesn't look like they will have much of a choice after Aceves. No one is climbing out of the garbage heap of so-called pitching depth to claim the job yet. It's still early.
  10. The news sources are still providing conflicting information
  11. and since 50 is the new 30, you are too old for me?
  12. She is definitely not old. You must be mistaking her for someone else.
  13. Has he had a single non-trolling post in one of the Sports threads in the past year or two? Seriously, he brings nothing to the table... nothing. Keep Shaughnessy, dump J_E.
  14. The old Boston Garden had a smaller rink than other venues. I guess they tore it down because it was unfair and not because it was an eyesore of a dump.
  15. Plus, he must be measuring the height of the rim before he'll play. It must be 10'0" exactly or it isn't fair.
  16. The Lars part of this is interesting. Are they trying to make him more versatile to give him some trade value, or are they toying with the notion of bringing him north as an OFer until Crawford joins the team?
  17. and not to be snide, but that stat confirms my first hand observation. BTW, speaking of defense. I have been impressed with this kid Ciriaco at SS. He's made some plays and he seems to have an idea with the bat.
  18. I don't know how much the scalpers are making these days. I have tickets that I can't use on Stubhub for a price that would only return my cost, and they are not exactly selling like hotcakes. It was the same story last year. I didn't get stuck with any tickets, but I just recouped my cost.
