    There are injuries that prevent you from playing. There are injuries which will get worse if you play. You shouldn't play if that is the case. Then there are injuries that you can play with and playing will not cause additional damage. If the latter is the case, you should be playing. Too many guys don't play in that situation and wait until they are fully recovered. That pisses me off when it is a highly paid star. Football players play all the time with busted ribs and healing shoulder separations and people are beating the s*** out of them. The difference is that their contracts are not guaranteed.

    He doesn't quite have the skill level to have an extended major league career. He's a fill in from the minors, nothing more.

    There is only so many times we can keep running Nava out there in the 6th spot in the lineup before he turns back into a .246 hitting pumpkin with no power.

    Middle relievers often don't post good numbers, because they don't get enough work to be effective. Our guys are getting plenty of work, and they have been effective lately. It's a mirage. If these middle inning guys were good (i.e., Achinson and Miller et. al) they would be starting here or somewhere else. They are middle innings guys because they are not very good. These are not young guys cutting their teeth at the MLB level. They are known quantities who have flopped for several organizations.

    Our bullpen is still a big weakness on this team. Let's not kid ourselves. When teams have a really bad staff, it is very common for the middle relief guys to shine. When your middle relief corp is shining, don't mistake that for a strong bullpen. It's deceptive. By the time the relievers enter the game, many times the game is already blown wide open.

    I don't think that he will solve any of the team's problems. He wasn't very good before his injury.

    The Red Sox should be sponsored by a psychiatric pharmaceutical company. They should be able to sell plenty of product to Sox fans this season.

    Getting the team healthy will not happen until possibly July. By that time we could be well entrenched in last place in too deep a hole.

    Oh, the entire history of the Red Sox is dominated by racism. Who are you Obama? The history of the Red Sox is about the players on the field. For me that history started in 1967. There was no Babe. There was no curse. BTW: "I love 2 teams, the Red Sox and who ever beats the Yankees". is a great line. It has been my philosophy for many years.

    Speaking for myself, I hate the Yankees, because they have been our toughest competition for as long as I can remember. Speaking of nonsense, what the hell are you talking about with regard to lambs to slaughter, teaching fairy tales etc.?

    As a Red Sox fan, I hated Steinbrenner. My Dad insisted that Steinbrenner ruined the game, but I would have loved to have had an owner that was so insistent on winning and excellence.

    Josh Reddick was 4 for 4 and a walk tonight with 2 HRs, 5 RBI and 4 Runs. Reddick has 8 HRs already-- more than anyone on the Red Sox. Sweeney has 0.

    It's just ridiculous that games like this end up as nail biters. We had a 7-1 lead after 6 innings. I fear that it's going to be this way all season.
