  1. Was David Ortiz ever a SS? LOL!!
  2. At least, he is taking accountability.
  3. You are right. He has not demonstrated an ability to hit at any level in the organization. How can we expecrt him to hit in the majors.
  4. It is finally the end of the road for Japan's National Trash-- at least in a Red Sox uniform.
  5. It shouldn't be a tight race at all. The writers would have to be on crack if this is a close vote. The only possible reason for not voting for Miggy would be in protest of his DWI. He did something that hasn't been done in almost half a century in winning the triple crown. The only guys in history to do it are enshrined in Cooperstown.
  6. Theo took a Cub team with 91 losses and followed that up with 101 losses. Rich Kotite's Jets followed a 3-13 season with. 1-15 record, so things can get worse. They have to take action and be aggressive to turn things around. I am hearing that they have money, but they are going to be smart about spending it. Well, it's always a good idea to spend smartly, but statements like that convey to me that they will sit back to see how the market develops rather than taking the initiative. That will not work. Great bargains don't fall through the cracks. 29 other teams are pursuing value players. If they have a reactive approach instead of a proactive approach, they will be headed for more failure. Cherries strikes me as too deliberate and afraid to make a decision. I am not expecting a lot. Hopefully, I am underestimating him.
  7. Time to get down ti business. Cherries should get only one year to get this team started in the right direction. As far as I am concerned, he has done nothing to show that he is anything more than Duquette's gofer and Theo's personal assistant. He needs to step up and get things done.
  8. That would be a good poll question.
  9. All we can hope for is for Baltimore to lose before our game end so the Yanks victory tonight will clinch nothing.
  10. The fact that Theo didn't have to rent an entire hotel and run a top secret operation to sign this guy should have been a big tip off that he was not good.
  11. The end of this and last season have made Joe Kerrigan's reign look like Miller Huggin's Yankees.
  12. ^I don't even know why I bother ti watch.
  13. There is only one way for this to turn out.
  14. It's time to return the Japanese Human Trash to its homeland.
  15. I think anyone else on the staff would have a better chance than Dice k TONIGHT--- Aceves, Padilla, Cook would all have a better chance. Maybe Bobby V just wants to humiliate Dice by having him lose to his fellow countryman.
  16. The game will be out of reach by the 3rd inning.
  17. Without the Angels to challenge them, the Yanks will probably advance easily through the offseason. The Tigers could mount some sort of threat, but the A's, Rangers, and O's should not be anything more than speed bumps.
  18. I saw his first start in Spring Training in 2007 when he was acquired. I saw him in the bullpen, and I was unimpressed that he was an undersized sort of pudgy guy. Even Bobby V didn't think a lot of him while he was in Japan, but we signed and paid him like he was going to be a star.
  19. I think fans should expect the ownership group to be focused on their team, and if they don't focus on the Sox and the team experiences failures like this season, they will be targeted for criticism.
  20. We should be able to live without the 40 innings he would contribute.
  21. He has very little MLB success on his resume. He had good 1/2 season with the Astros in 2011-- a team in a bad division that no one cared about. He doesn't throw hard and without pinpoint control, he is toast. There are not many successful relievers without live fastballs that rely on the curve.
  22. At best, Melancon should be extended the opportunity to compete for a bullpen spot, but not a late inning slot. He stinks. The need to bring in an established late inning guy to compete with Tazawa and Bailey.
  23. A team that loses 102 games is horrendously bad. They will get this off season to start building. He has plenty of freed up money. If he doesn't get them back to..500 next season, it will be further proof of how inept he is.
  24. The Yankees will jump out to a big insurmountable lead against Dice K. The Yankees on field post-game celebration will make our humiliation compete. The silver lining is that Dice K will never again sit up for the Sawx.
  25. Whether he closes or not next season, they need to bring in at least 1 big late inning bullpen arm capable of closing. There is not enough of late inning talent on this roster.
