  1. The money they invested in the players they acquired is not selling tickets and I don't think it gets them back to respectability. Tickets are no moving. The latest marketing gimmick is to pair up a Yankee game with a crappy weekday game in April and May in a desperate attempt to sell tickets. This is a technique that the Rays used when they were awful and the O's did it prior to last season. Edit: I think the money spent this year will prove to be money misspent.
  2. From mazz's column today. This is true and a little pathetic
  3. It's ridiculous to evaluate a transaction as a trade if you get no talent in return. If these guys are busts, it really just was a sale of players by the Sox. It's hard to evaluate a sale as a trade.
  4. If either Webster or De La Rosa turns out to be a good major league starter, it will be a good trade for us. If not, it was just a salary dump that shouldn't even be discussed as a trade. The salary dump provided a tremendous opportunity for Cherries to rebuild the roster. Thus far, he has spent $170 million for 2013 building a roster that is likely to finish 4th or last. I am not seeing the wisdom of his plan.
  5. Johnny Damon is offering to take the league minimum to play for the Yankees while Grandy is out. It could be worth us taking a flier on him at the minimum. There would be nothing to lose. At the least, he would bring back memories of the good ole days.
  6. At this point in ST, the velocity is not that concerning, but the command is worrisome.
  7. Dutchy-- A loser like no other.
  8. He's 30 yrs old.
  9. I can definitely see this happening.
  10. Does anyone know the answer to this?
  11. He's a 30 year old bust. In his last major league season (2010) he went 1-10 with a 6.75 ERA in 109 innings for Seattle. The guy sucks.
  12. Cervelli stinks. The only reason the yanks are making a go with him is that Girardi has a man-crush on him, because he was once a borderline talented major league catcher.
  13. Are the Yankees going to start the season with Cervelli and Romine as their catchers?
  14. He'd have to change his User Name to Youk of the Empire if he goes to a Yankee forum.
  15. It wasn't him. The brain of the guy in the picture was much too large.
  16. What an empty life he must have, and I'll bet that our tax dollars are subsidizing that walking virus.
  17. How long will Hughes be set back. He has been a slow healer in the past.
  18. Most of the time they slim down after they have nothing left so it doesn't make a difference. We will see if Youk is over the hill. I hope the hell that he is, but if not, he will hit some balls out to that ridiculously short RF.
  19. It's Dutchy. He sent a gruesome picture to my PM inbox before I even responded to him. He is the biggest loser psychopath that this forum has ever seen. I just like to remind him that he is the lowest of the low. I apologize for feeding the trolls.
  20. I'd like that. BTW, Youk looked to be in tremendous shape. He has really slimmed down.
  21. I thought that you have me on ignore? What fire?
  22. Yeah, right. I'd kick the s*** out of you.
  23. I am in a combative mood right now... my blood sugar is crashing from not eating since this morning. He provided me with a convenient target to carve up with my knives. I enjoyed it.
  24. The bitter taste of having a bad team is not quite so bad when the skanks are there with us.
  25. I'll be seeing those kids next week and having lots of fun doing so while the toxic mold from your ma's basement further deteriorates your limited intellectual ability and nonexistent social skills.
