  1. Fair enough. It should only be used judiciously.
  2. LOL!! Fans are often emotional and don't make sense. I was just laughing that you were so confused trying to make sense of his statement that you resorted to the TalkSox version of the Race Card in politics. Let me just say tongue in cheek that as with the race card in politics, using the "he must be a Yankee fan" card for everything we don't understand cheapens the true meaning of the accusation.
  3. Many of those stories about the Mets being interested in a FA are plants to appease a very angry and diminishing fan base. I have learned from my contacts that work for the Mets that through the years many of those stories are not truthful. In many cases, the Mets have not even spoken with the players agent on the phone. I have learned to believe none of the rumors about the Mets. Their ownership has zero integrity.
  4. I have to laugh that when a poster doesn't fall in line with the conventional wisdom Red Sox Nation, posters jump to the conclusion that he must be a Yankee fan. It's like the people that put the tag "miracle" on everything they can't understand or explain. LOL!!
  5. I think that he has a 50/50 chance of getting to Spring Training and a 1 in 3 chance of getting through Spring Training and making the team. He is a real long shot for making an impact on the 2014 team.
  6. What about Roberts/Johnson 2B and Drew 3B?
  7. I am going to go with Roberts, because assuming that both are healthy, Roberts will be a starter.
  8. And there it is. LOL!
  9. Good points. The Red Sox had major roster changes going into 2013. The Yankees were not going to get better by standing pat. We didn't stand pat after 2012.
  10. No disagreement here.
  11. Very intriguing move. I like it. Okay, cue the stupid "low risk high reward" assessments. LOL!!
  12. I don't understand the Sox fans who take glee in the Yankees overpaying for a player. It doesn't stop themfrom spending and they still got the player.
  13. They need CC to bounce back. That is their key, and they have to pray that Kuroda has something left, but I would much rather have Tanaka than old man Pettitte. That is a big upgrade.
  14. This is a nice pickup by the Yankees. They have made a number of nice pickups this offseason: McCann, Ells, Beltran, and Tanaka. We can debate these moves, but I judge them on whether or not I wanted the Skanks to get these guys. The answer in all 4 cases is no. I didn't want to see any of these guys wearing pinstripes. I would be excited for the season if I were a Skank fan.
  15. If CC regains his form, that is a very solid 4 guys. They'll need to pick up a Dempster-like pig to eat innings in the 5th spot.
  16. I think the Yankees signing Drew is being held up by Drew's reluctance to change position. There is no way that jeter will slide over for him. The Yankees will have to blow away the market to get Drew to play 3rd.
  17. Maybe the next Irabu.
  18. He's such an *******. LOL!!! I have him on ignore, so I don't care what he says. Unfortunately, I have to see his contentious garbage when he is quoted. But I get it. He hates Papelbon who helped us win a Championship and who was a consistent excellent performer for us, but he has Theo's ballsack in his mouth despite the fact that Theo left us a last place franchise in disarray and financially strangulated with his foolish deals. To each his own.
  19. I'd stand in line to get Pedro's autograph, but not for Theo's. That's just me. I root for and admire the players who IMO have super-human skills just to get to that level. Pedro is a whole different level of other-worldliness. FO guys are just pencil pushers and hot air. In my world, they are a dime a dozen. But hey, if you want to hang a poster of Theo in your office, go for it. The trainers help the players a lot too, but I couldn't even bother to know their names.
  20. The players perform.
  21. He had one of the best seasons of any closer in history.
  22. I wonder which memorabilia sells better: Papelbon or Epstein? LOL! People don't give a s*** about FO personnel.
  23. Amazing that people feel the need to deep throat former Sox FO guys. Who cares about them one way or another?
  24. The Shark is at a crossroads. It's time for him to translate his potential into performance. He was terrible last season-- a flop.
