  1. Pal, I will be up for Saturday's and Sunday's games. I will be missing the opener.
  2. Big Papi with #1 on the season. Nice blast.
  3. I can't stand that tool Showalter. He always manages to outsmart himself. It is a pet peeve of mine when a manager looks to extend the lineup by putting a putz in the top of the order. The O's have a good bunch of professional hitters, but Schmucky Buck puts up a nobody (Lough) in the number 2 hole between Markakis and Adam Jones. This extends the order so that hardy is batting 7th. In the meantime, Lough couldn't even put a bunt down after a leadoff hit. Of course, now that I have pointed out the stupidity of Buck's lineup, Lough will probably beat us.
  4. As good a reason as any. But would you vote for a politician who sold his votes for sexual favors? LOL!!
  5. There's nothing wrong with political conservatism.
  6. CC is getting pummeled by the Stros tonight.
  7. Don Baylor, hitting coach for the Angels broke his leg catching a ceremonial first pitch from Vlad Guerrero on Opening Day. It was sad to see him getting helped to his feet and then buckling after getting up. As a player, Baylor's physique seemed as if it were carved out of granite. He was such a strong guy, and he was tough too. One of his specialties was getting hit by pitches. He would take the opposing pitcher's best heat off any part of his body without the slightest of a wince or flinch. You almost felt sorry for the baseball. It was sad to see him looking old, hurt and very mortal.
  8. Ready to go!!! I hope that Victorino is just sitting out for a precaution.
  9. Opening Day is an official holiday in my home. I haven't worked on opening day in years. My other holiday is Super Bowl Monday.
  10. I hope the Yankees don't scoop him up.
  11. This really surprised me. He gave up 0 earned runs in 8 outings. I thought he was pitching very well and that he would have been a great late inning option.
  12. I would go to a game at any ballpark. LOL!! I have been to the Coliseum. I got first bae box seats and I was shocked at how far I was from the action. At the Giants ballpark, you are closer in the upper deck and they have the same fries!
  13. Yep, it is an imprecise science at best.
  14. If the Cubs kept a few of their first round picks like Josh Donaldson and Andrew Cashner, maybe they wouldn't be sucking it so hard.
  15. He blew a first round pick. It is never a good thing to blow your firsdt pick. Other guys were picked after Vitek that made or will make the majors. Christian Yellich would have been nice. Overall, it might have been a good draft, but blowing your first pick is still a black mark.
