  1. lineup 1 to start the season
  2. rotoworld-- obviously this will never happen, but imaging if we could make that deal? some other deals the Sox could make from that article: Johan Santana--To Red Sox for OF Jacoby Ellsbury and LHP Jon Lester OR To Red Sox for RHP Clay Buchholz, OF Coco Crisp and 2B Jed Lowrie Rich Harden--To Red Sox for INF Jed Lowrie, RHP Michael Bowden and LHP Hunter Jones (they dont say anything about Haren to the Sox, but im guessing any deal for him would be the same players the Sox would give up in a Santana deal) Coco Crisp (Red Sox)-- Crisp became the rare regular to lose his starting job during the postseason and seemingly has little chance of getting it back, though the Red Sox could afford to keep him around as a fourth outfielder. A tough player to value, Crisp has had two poor offensive seasons in a row, but he's just 27 and he was a .300-hitting, 15-homer guy in his final two years with the Guardians. Also, he was arguably the game's most valuable defensive player last season. The Red Sox should hold out for a very good prospect, possibly a catcher. Possibilities To Twins for RHP Jeff Manship and RHP Eduardo Morlan To Rangers for C Gerald Laird and RHP Wes Littleton To Rangers for C Taylor Teagarden and OF Engel Beltre (i like this deal) To Padres for 3B Chase Headley (probally wont happen now we have Lowell back) they say, like every year, Manny has a chance to be moved Tavarez and Snyder are mentioned, Moss and Lowrie are also on there
  3. Sox options to get Santana Jacoby Ellsbury, Jed Lowrie and Jon Lester OR Clay Buchholz, Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie Yankees options Robinson Cano and Phil Hughes OR Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera and Jose Tabata i wouldnt deal ellsbury, but the Buchholz deal would be real tempting
  4. He's in his contract year though and if he stays healthy, i think he'd be a good fit in the lineup. He's cheaper than anyone else to get. Unless Mike Lamb's an option.
  5. looks like kobe had his chance to get out of LA
  6. stephon marburys such a class act.... haha guys a joke, bribing his head coach to play him

  8. Brad Lidge has been sent from Houston to Philadelphia in a five-player deal according to ESPN News The Phillies sent outfielder Michael Bourn, pitcher Geoff Geary and minor leaguer Mike Costanzo to Houston, and received infielder Eric Bruntlett in addition to Lidge.
  9. my yahoo team is pretty sick, so far im in 1st by 10 points Chauncey Kevin Martin R Jefferson KG Camby Joe Johnson, L Aldridge, Biedrins, Marvin Williams, Battier, Rondo, Gooden, R. Brewer
  10. what would the sox have to give up with Buchholz and Crisp to get him? Masterson maybe? id rather resign lowell or sign arod

  12. i got this from Curts blog, i thought it was an interesting read. This is the letter written by Larry Lucchino and Theo Epstein to Curt Schilling in 2003, right before they went out to Arizona to meet with him. Curt's comments on the letter--
  13. he realized the DRays suck http://38pitches.com/2007/10/30/free-agency-weird/
  14. After Boston being his first choice, heres the list of the other teams Curt would sign with Cleveland, Detroit, Anaheim, New York Mets, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A., S.D., Arizona, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Milwaukee
  15. this trade is not going to happen so it doesnt really matter, but as much as id love to see Buchholz impress and dominant with the Sox, id take a 1-2 combo of Beckett and Santana for the next 5-6 years in a heartbeat.
  16. his size may be an assett, but look at all the right handed stud pitchers his size, that had major arm issues. theres to many to list i think he is going to be sick, and if he stays healthy he'll be an all-star pitcher, but i just dont see him staying healthy, i dont know why i just have a bad feeling about his arm. i think this is a trade that would only happen if Buchholz is involved, and i think you trade unproven talent for proven talent, who by the way is only 5 years older than Buchholz. theres no shot that Buchholz has the career Santana has
  17. id make this trade, if we can sign santana to 6 year deal worth $118mil i mean its this simple: we already have the best right handed pitcher in the AL, so adding the top left handed pitcher in the AL would be unbelievable. The best 1-2 combo in all of baseball for the next 6 years possibly? Hell this might be the best 1-2 combo in the history of baseball. Making this move would also block him from going to the Yankees, who desperately need him to contend in the AL East. Lester and Bucholz are very highly rated at this time, with Lester being dominant in the world series clinching game and bucholz pitching well at the end of the regular season. crisp has no spot on this team. this is like the kevin garnett trade in my opinion. this only makes us better now and possibly in the future as we dont know how those 2 young pitchers are going to hold up. I have alot of doubts about Clay, and im not so sure he's going to be able to stay healthy especially with his size. Buchholz--a career number 2/3 starter Lester--a career number 4/5 starter Crisp--a 4th OF, possible starter on a team with no CF FOR Santana--a first ballot hall of famer, Ace of the staff, and is only 29 years old but anyway, i doubt this is true so i dont know why i just wasted my time.
  18. So where will he end up next year? here's some options from the NY Daily News today: my picks the red sox, even though I'd rather Lowell, i think the Yankees are gonna go balls out to sign Lowell and the Sox wont match, they'll just replace him with A-Rod.
  19. ya it wont happen mostly cause of the finnancial issues, but i would be nice. could always deal Lugo for some pitching or prospects
  20. broken nose and a concussion is what they're saying now thank god thats all
  21. i dont get how u could play after something like that. the flyers are the dirtiest team in hockey as they'll soon have 3 guys suspended for over 20 games this year.
  22. he's being treated at mass general, but at this time, it sounds like hes still unconscious
