  1. Who the sox need to DFA OR Released no one yet Who the sox need not resign Trot Nixon Keith Foulke Loretta Who the sox need to move Try to move Clement Maybe Crisp in the right deal same with Lowell who they should resign Alex Gonzalez Wakefield (1 more year??) Cora Mirabelli (for 1 year) who they should sign as FA Matsuzaka--($60M over 5 years, 12M a year) Steve Kline--($4M over 2 years, 2M a year) Justin Speier--($7.5M over 2 years, 3.5M a year) Fransisco Cordero--($18M over 3 years, 6M a year) Jim Edmonds--(7.5 over 1 year, maybe 8) a 4th OF (maybe Preston Wilson for $2.5M for 2007 only) what big moves should the sox do this offseason Trade Mike Lowell for Scott Linebrink (or any other quality reliever) Trade Coco Crisp and a pitching prospect ( for Nick Johnson
  2. 1. Schilling 2. Matsuzaka 3. Papelbon 4. Beckett 5. Wakefield long--John Thomson/Clement lefty--Breslow 6/7th--Tavarez 6/7th--Justin Speier 8th--Hansen/Delcarmen 8th--Fransisco Cordero CL--Brad Lidge (trade some package with Crisp, maybe Clement, and Delcarmen/Hansen) If Lidge sucks, work Papelbon back into the closers role and put Tavarez/Thomson/Clement into the rotation. Lester, if healthy, can take over for whichever one of our starters either sucks or gets injured (probably Wake) at the time he comes back.
  3. we'll be atleast 6 games back by that point
  4. he has no choice in this game. The only other available OF is Hinske, who cant hit lefties for s***. I agree though, id rather see Murphy up than Kapler
  5. never mind, MacLane was traded to Arizona today for Shawn Green
  6. Wells to the Mets for Evan MacLane??
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2556812
  8. they outplayed and outmanaged us
  9. Wells to SD for Cla Merideth and a PTBNL
  10. heres an interesting stat that shows how bad, the sox pitching has been over the last 30 days Red Sox, over the last 30 days, have the worst ERA (6.22), as a team, in baseball. second worst is KC and BAL with team ERA's of 5.46
  11. Trading Loretta wouldn't be throwing in the towel at all, IMO. The Phillies traded Abreu without "throwing in the towel".
  12. good post. I agree with pretty much all of it. 86 years??
  13. My FO to-do list.... 1. Bring in Matsuszaka at 5 years/58 million. If we end up not getting him, go hard after Schmidt. 2. Trade Lester, Hansen, Willy Mo, David Murphy and some cash for Oswalt, Berkman and Brad Lidge (maybe Wheeler instead of Lidge). The Stros could be in for a rebuilding year, like the marlins of last year. This move would move the Sox back to the top of the AL East (unless the Yankees go out and make some ridiculous move, which is probably likely) 3. Sign Fransisco Cordero and Eddie Guardado. I know this all will cost a lot of money, but is needed if the Sox want to surpass the yankees. 4. Trade Loretta right now for Wilfredo Ledezma. Loretta did his job here, but with him being 34, a UFA and the Sox most likely missing the playoffs, move him now and get something in return 5. Sign Gonzo to a 2 or 3 year deal. Shouldnt need to explain this. when all is said and done, this is what the team would look like... 1. Coco--CF (i think he'll turn it around next year and hit .300 with a .360+ obp) 2. Pedroia--2nd 3. Ortiz--DH 4. Manny--LF 5. Berkman--RF 6. Youk--1st 7. Varitek--C 8. Lowell--3rd 9. Gonzo--SS Hinske--OF/1ST/3RD Cora--INF Mirrabelli--C Preston Wilson--OF 1. Oswalt 2. Schiliing 3. Matsusaka 4. Beckett 5. Wake LRP--Dinardo 6th inning guy--Tavarez 7th inning--Lidge 7th inning--Delcarmen 8th inning--Cordero 8th inning--Guardado closer--Papelbon PITCHING >>>>>> hitting
  14. to bad he has an era of 11.77 in 13 innings for Boston this year
  15. to bad Nixon isnt healthy, because i think the tigers would do that if you threw in a healty Trot they've been looking for a left handed OF for a while
  16. ya what i meant was the Marlins wanted the team who traded for Beckett, to take Lowell also.
  17. But it doesnt matter, because im not sure Theo has the balls anymore to make any big deals
  18. then add Berkman to the trade?? maybe they can throw Berkman into any deal with Oswalt, kinda like how Lowell was thrown into the Beckett deal
  19. Pauley's on the DL, Alvarez is on the DL (not like id nominate him anyway) and Gabbard is 1-7 with an ERA in the 5's for Pawtucket. If anyone gets called up, id like to see it be either Chris Smith or maybe even Zink. the darkhouse could be Rob Henkel, just signed by the Sox.
  20. Miner and Walker/Ledezma for Loretta would be nice as much as i like Loretta, he is 34 and a FA after the season. The sox aint going anywhere this year and those 2 pitchers would be an absolute steal. It also would give Pedroia some playing time up in the bigs
  21. Bring in Matsuzaka or Schmidt and id also go after the best relievers out there. This series has shown what a lack of good pitching, can do to a team What about trading Lester, Hansen, David Murphy, Delcarmen and cash for Roy Oswalt and Dan Wheeler ??? 1. Oswalt 2. Schilling 3. Matsuzaka/Schmidt 4. Beckett 5. Wake 1. Youk 2. Loretta 3. Oritz 4. Manny 5. Willy Mo 6. Lowell 7. Varitek 8. Pedroia 9. Coco LRP--Dinardo/Tavarez MRP--Wheeler MRP--Hansen SU--fransisco cordero SU--Eddie Guardado CL--Paps hinske--OF/1ST/3RD mirrabelli--C Cora--INF Kapler--5th OF Pena--1st to many moves for the timid Theo to make, but id love to see a team like that With that pitching staff, the offense wont need to put up 6+ runs a game like they do this year.
  22. rotoworld-- i guess we'll just have to use Gabbard as our 5th starter??? :dunno: Hinske and Pena are good pick-ups, but they aren't pitchers.
  23. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH  Seriously, how much better is Van Buren though??
  24. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/nufiveoh/chappelle_james.jpg RICK JAMES MOJO BITCH!!!!!
  25. Sox Lineup 1. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 2. Mark Loretta, 2B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Manny Ramirez, LF 5. Javy Lopez, C 6. Mike Lowell, 3B 7. Wily Mo Pena, RF 8. Gabe Kapler, CF 9. Alex Gonzalez, SS P. Josh Beckett Javy Lopex 5th??? he better have good numbers against Unit
