If Manny was traded to LAD, who do you think would bat 4th??
Willy Mo?
Drew?
a possible trade for A Jones or V Wells?? what would it take to get one of these guys
not many FA available other than Bonds, Guillen and Durham
the one team in that ESPN article that interests me is the Dodgerss. I seriosuly doubt they'd be up for a Manny trade but they have some good prospects that could be brought back.
Billingsley
Eithier
Broxton
Laroche
Kemp
Loney

can we please just not trade Manny unless we can somehow get equal value in return (which will never happen)
Schilling: 18-9, 3.95 ERA, 200 IP
Beckett: 15-9, 4.05 ERA, 210 IP
Matsuzaka: 16-6, 3.35 ERA, 225 IP
Papelbon: 14-9, 3.50 ERA, 200 IP
Wakefield: 11-10, 4.65 ERA, 180 IP
nasty rotation if they can stay healthy.
Also, I know how it says he throws low 90's, but in some of his recent videos online of games this year (and the WBC) he's throwing 94-95 consistently through the first 6 innings.
Then towards the end of games he starts throwing 91-92
first, we are not paying him 51 million, we are paying Seibu that money (only if he gets signed)
i will gurantee you, that Matsuzaka is not going to fail like a Kaz Matsui. He has so much poise when he's out there on the mound.
What if we moved Manny and someone else (Hansen?) to the Angels for Shields, Santana and Wood
Then moved Wood and Santana in a package to get Tejada?
1. Crisp
2. Youk
3. Ortiz
4. Tejada
5. Drew
6. Willy Mo
7. Lowell
8. Varitek
9. Pedroia
and it gives a very solid option for a closer in Shields
thats really the only way i can see a Manny trade happening
for a guy like Pierre, he doesnt get onbase enough. I mean he hit .292 with a .330 OBP.
I think he was more deserving of a 6-7 mill a year contract .
This does give the Dodgers 2 of the fastest guys in baseball at the top of their order though.
Alberto Castillo would be next years Ken Huckaby if signed
NO WAY he is our back-up catcher
Id like to see Barajas or Zaun as our back-up next year. We need insurance for V-tek
I think Drew would be fine in CF for the Sox. He's very sound defensively, tracking the ball and has a good arm. Doesnt have the best speed but other than that is better than Crisp in CF.
Id also rather move Crisp than Pena, especially since there is a very good chance we also sign Lugo.
1. Lugo
2. Youk
3. Ortiz
4. Manny
5. Drew
6. Willy Mo
7. Lowell
8. Varitek
9. Pedroia
trade Crisp in some package to get a closer/reliever.
I like the idea, but dont think the Angels would buy it.
I think we'd have to throw in a pitching prospect
1. Crisp
2. Youk
3. Ortiz
4. Manny
5. Drew
6. Varitek
7. Kotchman
8. Cabrera
9. Pedroia
I think the best part of the deal is adding Shields to our pen
i first thought it was a joke on rotoworld till i read the link.
Never heard of this ever before.
Red Sox last year had the most jewish players in the MLB though. They had 4 of the 13 Jewish major leaguers last season. (Kapler, Breslow, Youk, Stern)
