That lineup offensively should be fine, with the rotation we have next year. 1. Youk 2. Pedroia/Crisp 3. Ortiz 4. Manny 5. Drew 6. Lowell 7. Varitek 8. Crisp/Pedroia 9. Gonzalez

I just dont think we need a SS who can hit in the top of the lineup at this time. I think some combination of Youk/Crisp/Pedroia should be fine for the 1-2 spots in the lineup. Defense and Pitching come before Hitting. Not to mention the fact that we save alot of money in Gonzo.

i think Tavarez could have some value for NL teams. Maybe the Nationals or Padres would be interested in Tavarez as a 5th starter
