6/2 Twins @ Boston
seabeachfred replied to a700hitter's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
Generally enjoyable????? Are you f***ing kidding me??? Enjoyable with a 10-19 record, ensconced in dead last place and sinking faster than a rock---and you call that enjoyable. First of all that is ******** because I did lurk and see the game threads. They looked anything but "enjoyable" to me. That you can enjoy yourself when what we have is a total team train wreck makes me wonder just how little it takes to make you feel "enjoyable". And nothing I said in my post was false. If there are those who cannot accept an unpopular truth it is either time to wake up or go live in an alternate world. It isn't whining. It laying it out as it is. Our team stinks. Fact! We're in last place. Fact. Cherington has assembled a lazy, fat, uninspiring team that loafs and cannot come back from any kind of deficit. Fact. At this rate we will finish last three of the last four years. Probable Fact. And if you've read Eric Wilbur, Gary Tanquary, Dan Shaugnessy, Rob Bradford, Steve Buckley, and Kirk Minehane, they sure as hell don't sound enjoyable. They're pissed off as I am and any Red Sox fan who can see past his nose. The front office is finally being hammered by the press and media---and it might be fair to say that Prune Face and Co. have lost the support of the press. Inconvenient truths may be hard to take but they are there and must be accepted whether we like them or not. The team right now stinks like a sewer at high tide....And that is a fact!!!!! -
Real baseball? Maybe but not real baseball PEOPLE. All this s*** about WAR, VORP, BABIP, UZR used by this generation of baseball geeks has been used almost like a religion by the Sox and led by their fuzzy thinking owner---and where the hell has it gotten us. Pitching wins are WINS. Some can pitch crappy but well enough to win, and some like Buchholz lately pitch just well enough to lose. And you cannot win without runs and getting people home---which we can't seem to do. RBI's do count and screw the VORPS, WAR and other geek s***. Wins are the only thing that count no matter how they are attained.
-
While the allure of the Red Sox is diminishing......right down through the crapper.
-
It's called choking in the CLUTCH, something that real baseball people in the game have know for years. RBI's DO count and some can do that job and some can't. We've gone over this ad nauseum but by now you can see for yourself that those metrics of getting on base does not make it if you can't get them home and we just have too many chokers right now.. Could be they are trying to hard but from what I've seen on TV I actually believe many of this year's edition simply don't give a s*** be because they're not team players.

6/2 Twins @ Boston
seabeachfred replied to a700hitter's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
I kept hoping Pal that when I came back I would be hit with a pack of posters telling me how full of it I was.....and I would have been delighted to hear it and accept it. You know, though, that most people here, deep down, knew our team was in trouble a month ago.......and except for firing the pitching coach nothing has been done. How about buying a new scale and putting Fatso Sandoval on it and see just how much weight he's gained since he played for the Giants. The Giants knew because they weighed him periodically. We haven't---and don't anyone out there say they have. The Red Sox announced when they signed him they would NOT weigh him. Another s***** move. You know that Middlebrooks in SD has more homers and a higher slugging percentage than Fatso? And Ramirez must NOT play defense again....platoon him with the Diva who can't hit lefties anymore. Then fire The Boob. That would be a small but good start. Of course, there are miles and miles more to go to help repair this train wreck of a team. A win tonight might be a drop in the bucket but needed. -

Anyone really think this nightmare is going to change? We have a fatso playing third who we're paying mega bucks to who can't get out of his own way, and unlike the Giants we refuse to put Fatso Sandoval on a scale and demand that he lose some of his blubber. How about that miserable Hanley who can't play defense anywhere and has a negative WAR of 0.5 despite his 12 homers, most coming in games we've lost. The team plays without enthusiasm, loafers abound and it seems only Pedroia seems to give a s***. Benny the Boob needs to be cashiered and that goes for Farrell too. All I hear from Farrell is this or that nugget of optimism and good cheer after every damn losing game where he simply stink up the ballpark. We are reaping the whirlwind for losing Lester and Lackey and replacing them with trash like Disasterson, Smiley Miley and BORcello. This team sucks and if I could get my money back for that trip I signed up for in March I would do it in two shakes of a monkey's ass. Win this series against the Twins? Are you serious????? -
5/2 vs New York Yardbirds

I'd rather be him right now than You or even me. At least he's happy----and if you're not both disappointed and pissed off check the color of the hat you're wearing. -
5/2 vs New York Yardbirds
seabeachfred replied to Thunder's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
It IS urgency. This was the series where we were going to start making a real move against our bitterest rivals right on our home field and instead HAVE TAKEN A COLOSSAL s*** ALL OVER THE FIELD LIKE THE f***ING LOSERS WE'VE BECOME SINCE THE SIXTH GAME OF THE 2013 WS. We can't hit in the clutch and when we hit the pitching stinks, when we do get pitching the batter gag on their f***ing Adam's Apples. We will be in last place in a week and this board will be on flame by the middle of June. See all of you then. -

Best signing of the Offseason: Hanley Ramirez
seabeachfred replied to vjcsmoke's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
I drank some of the Kool-Aid and didn't realize what a pack of choke-ups our hitters were, how s***** our starting pitching really was, how inept beyond words Farrell as a manager is, and how terribly idiotic Prune Face is when it comes to understanding talent and how the market dictates what players are worth and if he ever does, goes out and get us good solid players and not the s*** like Smiley Miley, Porcine Porcello, and Muggs Masterson. And maybe a couple of good bullpenners not named Mujica who was kept only because of salary when Varvaro was actually a better pitcher. I won't ask you to bet but a gentlemanly wager says we are in last place when I come back next month when I declare open season on the front office. -
Is the actual rotation the worst in the last 10 Y?
seabeachfred replied to iortiz's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Israel my friend, as you know by now I'm signing off for a month as I did in 2012 and last season. When I got back both years the team was even worse than when I left but what really pisses me off is that we have posters on this board who claimed they would raise hell if the front office didn't go out and get us that ace and admonished me for being pre-mature about it. That was unadulterated ******** because I knew when it didn't come to pass they would worm their way into an acceptance of what the FO did. You didn't, 700 didn't, I didn't and some others didn't either if you read some of the game threads. Right now our rotation is solid s***, our offense is either way overrated or we have a pile of chokers who can't come through when we need a hit or two the most.. And this stuff of comparing those turds we got to Lester is sickening to the core. None of our rotation save Pukehholz has ever been a WS winner and Clay only because he won on the team. His contribution the second half of '13 and in the WS was s*** on rye. Lester was a two time WS winner and he is now better than anyone we have, he will be better next year and the year after that. What f***ing good is it to say, oh well, we have them until they turn 30-31 if in that interim we have a pack of near last place finishes? There is an excellent chance we will be in last place again on June 2, and you can bet that some of us here will be declaring open season on the Red Sox front office, ownership, manager and team. We stink right now. -

seabeachfred replied to iortiz's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Anyone who would say they would take Porcine Porcello or Smiley Miley over Jon Lester this year, next year or the year after that is out of their f***ing minds. Lester is a proven two time WS winner, our best pitcher the last half-dozen years and a qualified ace. Porcy and Smiley are neither, never have been and never will be. Stop trying to hand the god damn front office a life line. They screwed up big time not resigning Lester and I said if before, say it now and will say in again when I return in a month, that neither of those two mediocrities can tough Lester as a pitcher. -
Best signing of the Offseason: Hanley Ramirez
seabeachfred replied to vjcsmoke's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Don't forget to add our s***** starting pitching and the fact that our heralded hitting attack has misfired twice already to the Yankees in this series that we needed to win and will probably get swept at. We have a s***** team; I am now totally convinced of that and further that we are overrated hitting and we have more than or share of choke-ups. Taking a month off as I did in 2012 and 2014 and if I return and we are even worse than we are now....as we were both times in spades, the Red Sox front office, manager and team will be open season. -
The same way I knew Rubby De La Rosa and Alan Webster, those two "great prospects" you kept insisting we got in that trade back in 2012, were s*** on rye and not worth a damn. That's how. Of course, our s***** pitching we currently have would should make anyone with a modicum of smarts know that Lester will be severely missed. Then again, as we have proven in this Yankee series so far our heralded hitting attack has good ability to take the apple in their throats when things get tough. We'll be in last place within a week. We have a s***** team. This is going to be a replay of 2012 and 2014 because we stink. Letting the Yankees beat us twice in a row on our home grounds by close scores is a total disgrace. I'm going off this board for a month and if things pan out the way they did in '12 and '14 when I took my monthly hiatus, I will return with fire flaming out of my nose and smoke from my ears........AND EVERYONE CONNECTED WITH THE RED SOX WILL BE OPEN SEASON.

5/1 vs Bronx Zoophiliacs
seabeachfred replied to Jacoby_Ellsbury's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
Masterson, who has trouble galore pitching to left handers, should have been bypassed for this series. Kelly has had full rest and is 3-0 vs the Yankees in three appearances, but apparently taking a page from master FrancoMa's book, he "doesn't want to lose him", and we may pay a stiff price f or that loyalty and stupidity tonight when Justin gets the living s*** knocked out of him. Oh how I would love to be wrong, but one thing I do know. We better hit very well tonight. -

And right now NONE OF OUR STARTING PITCHERS are earning their way. Right now the whole sad and sorry and pathetic fivesome is a sunk cost. -
I wonder if Prune Face was watching that game from his cage. Probably should have gagged on his banana, the stupid ass. Losing Lester is going to be felt for a long time.

4/29 vs Blew Jays
seabeachfred replied to Jacoby_Ellsbury's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
I don't like the matchups at all. First of all Masterson has tons of troubles against left handed hitters....and that is putting it kindly. Not so kindly, they pound the s*** out of him. Kelly for all his hiccups seems to have the ability to pitch well against the Yankees and should be opening the series since he would be on full rest. Pray for Miley on Saturday with our fingers crossed and then try Masterson. Maybe by then we will be even 1-1 or, hopefully, 2-0 in the series. For the record, I would even endure Justin if the choice was between him and that gutless bastard f***hholz. -
And that should mean that there must be no personal attack by posters on other posters. However, when a poster is attacked he has the right, obligation, and duty to either turn the other cheek, retaliate lightly or come on like a sledgehammer and totally over react. I think that would stop this pissing contest we seem to have over here. Remember this.....the front office, the manager and the team are open season----the posters are NOT. Don't get personal with any of them. This is a forum and if you disagree with someone give a counter argument and keep the nastiness out of it.

4/29 vs Blew Jays
seabeachfred replied to Jacoby_Ellsbury's topic in Mike Grace Memorial Game Thread Forum
I wondered if I was watching a mirage---we actually had a very well pitched game tonight----seven strong innings by Porcello and two good relief innings from Taz and Koji even though Taz scared me a little. I tuned in during the fourth inning and there we were ahead 3-1. Since f***hholz was nowhere to be found we got the chance to win the rubber game and finish the series on a solid note. I just wish we can start getting these kinds of pitched games a little more often, like say this weekend against our friends from New York. -

No? Just wait. I know of one person who will Pollyanna this. OTOH, we could all use some positive reinforcement right about now. AND SHE JUST DID!!!!! Attaway Kimmi. -

That young ******* likes to attack posters and fails to realize that it is that that causes s*** to fly on the board. You attack the front office, the ownership, the players---you do NOT attack or get personal with your fellow posters. I don't know who many times we have said that Ted but it seems to fall on deaf ears because there seems to be a small group that enjoys reading personal attacks and give fodder to dickweeds like that to practice their s***. -

Recklessly spending on Beckett? Later perhaps but the guy had a decent track record every other year he pitched for us, and in 2007 he was the best pitcher on the planet and helped win us a title. Without Beckett we don't win a title in 2007, capice? As for "running the team", if I had been Lester would have been paid and Lackey would have gotten an extra year extension and a raise from the minimum he would have gotten had he stayed with the Red Sox. AND WE SURE AS HELL WOULD HAVE BEEN A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN 11-10 AND SINKING IF WE HAD DONE THAT. -

Israel, as I said to you the other day, some posters simply do not like hearing an uncomfortable truth. You called it before the season....WE NEED TWO STARTING PITCHERS OR WE COULD BE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. You were right on but from what I've all you've gotten for those pearls is some s***** short caustic comments from someone who too much time on his hands (no name given), and from a few who simply don't like what you have to say. Listen up friends and associates.....this team right now is s*****, it stinks from the neck up, and our pitchers are not only getting it, they're GETTING THE LIVING s*** POUNDED OUT OF THEM. Uncomfortable and unpopular truth but a FACT. Since iortiz was adamant in insisting we needed to get those pitchers and most of the rest of the crew felt the same way, the difference, AND A BIG ONE, is that he never backed down nor did 700 and some of the others. Those others who said they would raise hell if we didn't get those pitchers were mute when we didn't and simply followed the party line once again....AND YOU ALL KNOW WHO THE HELL YOU ARE. If we lose tonight we go to 500 and will have lost three series in a row after winning the first game of each. Tonight we have to hit and Pissant Porcello has to pitch a decent game for a change while Farrell gets his finger out of his ass and has someone warming up by the fifth, assuming Porcy can go that long, and not pull a FrancoMa and wait until the damage is done. JUST WIN THE DAMN GAME TONIGHT.. We could even pick one up on the surprising Yankees who finally lost one to the Rays. -

Actually eight Youk, with a four year hiatus from 200u8-2012. Someone mentioned to me last year that since I made a successful thread I should start another one the next game. I didn't think much of it at the time----so, no, I really didn't know you keep it up until you lose. Either that or I had one of my senior moments. Thanks for the update.
