  1. Isnt age a factor here as well, Helton's closing in on 34, Why would they want a player that old, even if it is Helton? I thought this team was on the right path with a youth movement, this move says otherwise.
  2. Maybe I'm dreaming, is this an opening for clemens return possibly??
  3. Why would Chicago ever want to part with their ace at only 25? the only thing I can possibly think of is the FO going through a transition right now. With Kerry Wood most likely not coming back I don't see this as happening. Wheres the source of this anyway?
  4. He's having rotator cuff surgery and will be out for at least 8 months... what a goddam shame http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060930&content_id=1691510&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym
  5. not really expect at this point, I still would like to see him have success though, I think alot of people can agree on that
  6. Lets just see what the two more years on his contract bring, hopefully no more trips to the DL
  7. You dont ever criticize the greatest pitcher in franchize history, the sox havent and never will be the same with his departure. Nothing but respect for the man whos a HOF'er in any baseball fans mind. theres no telling where the Mets will end up (personally I'd like to see them have success) but here's a look at Petey in the postseason: Year Round Tm Opp WLser G GS ERA W-L SV CG SHO IP H ER BB SO +------------------+-----+--+--+------+-----+--+--+---+-----+---+---+---+---+ 1998 ALDS BOS CLE L 1 1 3.86 1-0 0 0 0 7.0 6 3 0 8 1999 ALDS BOS CLE W 2 1 0.00 1-0 0 0 0 10.0 3 0 4 11 ALCS BOS NYY L 1 1 0.00 1-0 0 0 0 7.0 2 0 2 12 2003 ALDS BOS OAK W 2 2 3.86 1-0 0 0 0 14.0 13 6 5 9 ALCS BOS NYY L 2 2 5.65 0-1 0 0 0 14.3 16 9 2 14 2004 ALDS BOS ANA W 1 1 3.86 1-0 0 0 0 7.0 6 3 2 6 ALCS BOS NYY W 3 2 6.23 0-1 0 0 0 13.0 14 9 9 14 WS BOS STL W 1 1 0.00 1-0 0 0 0 7.0 3 0 2 6 +------------------+-----+--+--+------+-----+--+--+---+-----+---+---+---+---+ 4 Lg Div Series 3-1 6 5 2.84 4-0 0 0 0 38.0 28 12 11 34 3 Lg Champ Series 1-2 6 5 4.72 1-2 0 0 0 34.3 32 18 13 40 8 Postseason Ser 5-3 13 11 3.40 6-2 0 0 0 79.3 63 30 26 80 +------------------+-----+--+--+------+-----+--+--+---+-----+---+---+---+---+ step right up and greet the mets
  8. sign mussina at 38?? He'd to it cause he's said that he wants to make it to 300 wins, I doubt cashman would let him walk though
  9. Don't count him out yet, talent like that doesnt just dissapear, he's only 34 also, I doubt we've seen his full potential at this point in his career, but I would agree.... after '08 his pitching days are probably over
  10. Step right up and greet the Mets
  11. Best of luck to him, injuries aside he's a hardworking guy and hopefully the Padres will be a good fit for him to end his career
  12. Whoever said he wanted to leave Texas anyway? I'm not quite sure where this rumor emanates from, inform me if you know where this came from.
  13. No mention of Pedro either
  14. Use him as trade bait by the deadline.. if anyone would take him, its evident he's not coming back
  15. He'll be 37 at the end of his tenure with the mets, It was a risk well worth taking for FO.
  16. "Su Casa Pedro", thats the poster I will remember
  17. tonight doesn't change the fact his legacy is made, future hall of famer as it is, regrettably he no longer dons a redsox uniform... IMISSPEDRO
  18. How ironic some have written on this thread bashing this poor man, shame on those that did, they got their wish.. he's probably going to retire
  19. yea, tickets to wednesday's game
  20. Questionable call on allowing the penalty kick for ghana to win, f*** it, another USA team goes down.
  21. Nope can't say that would be a smart move, THEY can provide you with a championship, so why wager your talent
  22. Yea I mean it's obvious that something need to be done there, but what could you possibly get in return for Harris
  23. I know theres time till Pena's return, but are we really gonna need, Harris, Kapler and Pena when he does come back? the way it looks at this point, Kapler is here to stay, so do you look to offload one your backup outfielders? I.E. Harris or Pena?
  24. with the retiring of schilling after next year, who would want two 40 yeaer old starters for only a year?? it leaves two major holes in the rotation after next year and sacrafices too much young talent, this would not be a good move
  25. I could see him starting if nixon were to go down and kapler isn't ready
