  1. Only thing I don't like about they're Yankees (business-wise) is that yes, they have 200 million+, but they don't spend it wisely at all. I like the Farnsworth, and Dotel move somewhat, but they spend their money on everyone whos' on the wrong side of 30. Damon to me looks iffy in 4 years, I'll be amazed if he produces the way he did last year 4 more times. They went after RJ, who is 40+, and gave up prospects, they went after Kevin Brown, nuff sed, Gary Sheffield OVER Vladamir Guerrero, and got Gordon and Quantrill as bullpen help. This is why I like the direction the Sox are moving in, though they dont look as solid, they are looking towards the future. Reed is a good solid prospect, and I for one, would love to land him. Lester, Delcarmen, Hansen, Marte, etc. all good future core players.
  2. Good humor for such a down time, thanks for posting that, I thought it was good.
  3. I feel very betrayed right now. We didn't do anything wrong, we offered exactly what we shouldv'e to a slap hitter with a terrible arm. Idk what happened, but somewhere mid-negotiations, Johnny (or John as Geroge might want it) lost his feelings towards Boston over 2 f***ing million per year. He won a World Series with us, he beat the Yanks in the ALCS, he wrote a f***ing book about it, and he's willing to cash it in for 2 mil a year. Well if it were any other team I wouldn't be as mad, but that just adds to my fire. I dont understand how money can change someone. You already make millions, you already have your house on MTV f***in Cribs, you dont need any more money, it's a simple question of where do you want to go. Well, it's another Pedro story, the question is when will he finally wear down, Pedro's arm, John's body. I'll be happy with Reed/Crisp. AT least 20 bucks will be spent on the mammoth haircut he's goin to get.
  4. Did ya read it? it's pretty hillarious
  5. Read the link already given: http://www.boston.com/sports/basebal...s/extra_bases/
  6. I have no problem, theyre a well run, well equipped team who doesn't say any controversial comments or have any selfish players.
  7. I was basing it on the fact that we need(ed) a SS.
  8. That doesn't make sense to me, Loretta has the ability to play SS, there's no reason they can't shift him over there, and Pedroia could learn a lot from those two in ST.
  9. True, though they had intentions of improving the defense anyway in ALex Gonzalez. Also that doesn't make sense for them to cut Tony G unless they get someone better suited for SS or 2B, or if pedroia really showes em somethin in ST
  10. Huh, I never knew u were 13, I'm 14 (15 in April) Oh, and Manny don't worry, you can have her
  11. Yeah, O's management pulled a Devil Ray on us, askin for way more then needed, I mean come on, Miggy isn't THAT much more valuable then manny.
  12. I love the temporary combo of Graffy and Loretta, not only have we potentially strengthened our infield offense, but we have strengthened defensively a ton too. In total, the combo of Loretta, Lowell, and Graffy made a total of 15 errors at their repective positions, thats half of what Renteria made, so I applaud what this new management has done, and it could turn out even better if Lowell gets back to offensive form.
  13. Eaton deson't sound like a good clubhouse guy either
  14. I think we're all set starter-wsie, and I woudl not rwally want this guy pitchin games at Fenway, most NL pitchers have 1 run added on to their ERAs so we're lookin at a high 4.00 guy or low 5.00 guy, IMO I wouldn't offer much, if anything only to get Wells where he wants to be.
  15. 1) *Damon, cf 2) Loretta, ss 3) Ortiz, dh 4) Ramirez, lf 5) Lowell, 3b 6) Nixon, rf 7) Varitek, c 8) Youkilis, 1b 9) Graffanino, 2b I really like that lineup, good balance of power and contact and almost no holes as of now. That's 6 people who have hit .300 in their careers (off the top of my head).
  16. Well I watch the College World Series every year and mostly ASU is in there in the deeper rounds too. I basically got to see Pedroia play also. I'd like their basketball team but they suck, and last year I followed em for Frye and Stoudamire, both of whom are blossoming i the NBA now.
  17. Maybe since he's back we can shift Loretta to SS? Or vice versa, I think Graffy is a better option then either having him sit or getting a Gonzalez to fill a middle infield spot.
  18. I was born in Scottsdale
  19. MLB- The Red Sox of Boston NFL- NE Pats NBA- Celts/Suns NHL- Bruins College Hoops- UA(rizona) Wildcats College Football- BC Eagles College Hockey- BU Terriers College baseball- ASU Sun Devils
  20. Bowden's another good pitcher comin up with a high ceiling, jesus, they're poopin up all over the place now, whatever we're doin in the drafts must be workin, and we're just now begining to reep the rewards.
  21. From a national perspective, heart-warming, from a Sox perspective, very grim (because of Little, it's good for the players)
  22. If you look at his stats though, for when he hasnt ahd an ERA under 4, theyve all been low IP totals, the highest being 33 innings. All in all I think he's a good short-term addition to the pen to warm the spot for Hansen/Delcarmen. In a few short years, we may have 4 home-grown star pitchers here, evnly distrubted between the rotation and pen. It's exciting times down on the farm.
  23. Can you make me a Lester one similar to the Varitek one except with a Red background instead of blue, if the colors don't work out it's cool, but I'd prefer it that way.
  24. Lol, my bad, I totally meant Clement, just got mixed up with names, no but yeah, in my otehr post i said trade Clement first, so just a name mix up.
  25. Well playin 1st would give him somewhat of a better shot to do that wouldn't it? Unless he stretches his groin again. However it's better than SS/2B to the fact that he doesn't have to run around as much. I wish him the best wherever he goes, and hope he succeeds in LA.
