  1. Damon in 2004: .380 OBP, .477 SLG, .857 OPS Damon in 2005: .366 OBP, .439 SLG, .805 OPS Also his defense has shown signs of faltering 2002 and 2003: 1 error 2004: 5 errors 2005: 6 errors If this isn't declining then if anything he is returning to his norm or a .290 BA and .353 OBP (absolutely terrible for a lead-off hitter). Not to mention his .285 second half.
  2. Everyone has just got to relax and be patient. It's not the FOs fault the FA market sucks, that everyone is offering bloated contratcs to average players, and practically no good players are out ther to plug our holes. IMO Theo would have made the same decision with Damon bby sticking to a 4 year 40 mill deal. It wouldn't be his fault if the Yankees want an aging CF who "doesn't know where the ball goes when he hits it".
  3. I think I'd want more than Hensley or the other guy from SD. The Dodgers seem to have more depth on the farm, and as the article said they have a package of prospects for Wells. It looks like at the end of this we'll at least add one solid and semi-established bullpen arm.
  4. The FO hasn't really done anything bad at all, and have fallen victim to an insane spending spree by MLBs big spenders. Look at all the inflated contracts: B.J. Ryan, Johnny Damon (IMO), A.J. Burnett, Reggie Sanders, otehrs, and now Millwood. Also these are very Epsteinian decisions (staying put with a reasonable offer) ala Pedro Martinez. It actually will turn out much better in the years to come. For example, the Blue Jays have drained their bank, and though they look solid on paper they could turn out like the Orioles of not long ago. This also means that we have free'd up money for the enxt few years to spend on FAs actually worth spending money on. That, combined with the cream of our farm system crop, we could return back to MLBs peak.
  5. I would love to get Huff and Gathright to fill up two holes but I have a feeling we'll have to give up something like Lester, Papelbon, Marte, and every 1st born from Massachussetts.
  6. If he was a prospect of Lastings Milledge caliber then maybe then he could do decently at the ML level. However, he has a lot to work on, his defense is solid, but even his stealing, he needs some fine-tuning on.
  7. I don't mind it at all, however I don't think we can deal DiNardo just now because of our LHP shortage. Also I think we should try our hardest to keep Moss in a deal like this, maybe try and go with Chris Durbin? or I'd say West but he's supposedly heading to the Cubs for the JVB deal.
  8. True, but this is all hypothetical, of course, probably a few will wash out, or others will be traded. I think the only cant-misses are Lester, Hansen, Delcarmen, Marte, and Pedroia. That's still a good amount of core home-grown players who can do damage and provide a good clubhouse for anyone coming in to pacth up the rest of the roster.
  9. go to soxprospects.com, they have a profile on him.
  10. I don't understand the Blue Jays plans at all, theyre log-jammed at the corners, and now they want Walker as their potential DH, where are they going to put all these people, and where are they getting all this money, maybe the exchange rate is helping them.
  11. Ohhhh baby, the boo he's gunna get when he comes back to Fenway. Gives me chills just thinkin about it. Happy Holidays traitor.
  12. Yeah, but he did terrible in AAA with I beilieve a 6.00+ ERA, off the top of my head, but your right hopefully he can tune up and get back to form.
  13. Lol, Yeah, hopefully his jersey comes out soon, should sell out in a matter of hours
  14. Yeah, I was ind of suprised they didn't have one for Beckett, but your right I guess no one else was really worth introducing
  15. Anyone notice that none of the new Sox players were formerly introduced ala Schilling when he came here? Like no press conference at all, no holding up the jersey?
  16. Mike Rozier has Boras as his agent, he's one of our high ceiling spects
  17. O, just a minor problem, u spelt his name wrong lol, it's "Jon" Lester
  18. Hopefully he can rebound from his terrible MLB appearence and come back to his potential.
  19. Thanks man, ur the best
  20. he is, he just did terrible in AAA
  21. I just noticed but what would be the plan with Van Buren since we almost have a log jam of righties in our pen? Do we keep him in the minors so we can replace Timlin with him?
  22. Exactly, he's one of the fastest in the MLs and imagine once Ellisbury gets up here, him and Gathright at the top of the lineup. Talk about run production.
  23. I wonder if instead of trying to get Lugo along with Gathright if we can just get Gathright, he's is just what we need, a young, solid defense, good contact, and very speedy player who is still young.
