  1. Contreras was flat out unhittable. It would be intresting to see if the White Sox were to fall behind 2-1 in the series if they would come back to him on 3 days rest.
  2. I expect Wells to win tomorrow. When you look up "big game pitcher" in the dictionary you will see David Wells there. Plus you guys hit Buherle pretty good. I would expect a Red Sox win. As I said in the other thread. Game 1 was the only game I felt the White Sox had a big advantage.
  3. Jose Contreras looks like a MUCH different pitcher now as opposed to when he was with the Yankees. He does not fall into a pattern. I remember the days when he would give up a hit and then throw NOTHING and I mean NOTHING but splitters. Now he has more confidence in his fastball. Plus his K/BB is ALOT better now. I was looking at his last 3 starts (Including this one) and he has struck out 24 and walked 1. IMO Clement looked like Contreras when he was in NY.
  4. With the Red Sox offense you guys arent done yet. But this first inning was brutal.
  5. It should be Willis but they will give it to Carpenter because hes on the Cards.
  6. I agree that the Yankees should have taken care of business by themselves. BUT its obvious what Buck did was wrong. There is no if ands or buts about it.
  7. I turned out to be right the first time. Wang will be starting game 2.
  8. You know guys I dont disagree with you. I dont think the Yankees should have said anything BUT what Showalter did was wrong.
  9. If Mussina was healthy he would have made the start. Mussina is battling elbow tendonitis and they only way it will get any better is rest.
  10. Just because the entire league hates the Yankees it doesnt mean that its right. All of you know damn well that there would be a 20 page discussion on this of the Rangers did this to your team. He said he would pitch Rivera because he owes it to the Guardians just like the White Sox owed it to both the Yankees and Red Sox. Like I said before if your a great team you should take care of business anyway.
  11. So what you want the Yankees to do is send Mussina out there with elbow tendonitis when we have already finished off the divison. Also when you do that NOW you have to start 2 pitchers that have NEVER pitched in the post season on the road. Yeah great Idea. The Yankees sent every bench player out there from the 5th inning on because they were losing 7-0 with Schilling on the mound. I doubt we were winning that game. Also the Yankees have played about 25 games in a row. Get rest and get ready for the Angels. What were the Rangers getting rested for? Golf next week? Anyway....If your truly a great team you should be able to win anywhere just look at the Red Sox from last year.
  12. Its amazing how much you guys hate A-Rod. Torre said the same thing. Thats not being cocky at all. He is telling the truth. What Showalter did was wrong. Can you imagine how many people would be upset if the DREADED Yankees did that? The fact of the matter is Showalter was trying to stick it to the Yankees and he did. That said the Yankees should move on and focus on the Angels. All they had to do was win one game from the Royals or from the D-Rays and the game would be in YS. Resting Mussina was the right thing to do. Once we clinched there was no reason to waste his arm.
  13. It looks like it will be Chacon in game 2 insted of Wang. Chacon has an ERA on the road of: 3.05 ERA
  14. Their bullpen has more depth with the addition of Escobar. It doesnt get any better then our bullpen at the end of the game though.
  15. I will say this. If the White Sox can either be tied late or in the lead they should be in good shape. They have a pretty good pen. Cotts VS Ortiz should be a matchup you will see alot late in games.
  16. I think thats exactly why he is doing that. Because there is no other reason why Chacon wouldnt be pitching that game. If Mussina leaves after 6 with a lead he might use him to get to Gordon and Rivera. I think that will be a common theme this postseason. He will use guys like Chacon and Randy (In a must win) to get him to Gordon and Rivera.
  17. I will be going to game 3 btw. Johnson-Washburn
  18. Hasnt Washburn be battling a forearm problem?
  19. IMO this series will come down to 2 things. One of which is the pitching. I like the match ups to be honest. We have hit Colon very hard over his career. We have hit 7 HR's off of him in 11 innings (4 of which by A-Rod). The Angels arent the same hitting team as they were in 2002. Another key will be keeping Figgins off bases. He has hit us very well this season. If we can keep him off base we will be in good shape.
  20. That is an excellent point One Red. They are not a patient team and Wang will use that to his advantage. BUT from what I heard Wang will start game 2 not game 4. IDK why Torre isnt going with Chacon in game 2 but thats what I heard.
  21. The only game I see the White Sox with an advantage in is game 1. If they lose game 1 it could be a 3 game sweep.
  22. The Red Sox game will be on at 4PM on Tuesday. The Yankee-Angel game will be on at 8PM
  23. haha yeah no doubt about it.
