  1. He did come back from that injury and ended up being one of their best starters. That injury happend right after the all-star break.
  2. Your pretty much nailed it. To act like the Red Sox dont have major question marks in their roto/pen I think is crazy. I saw a post before saying the Red Sox have one of the best pens in the majors. How can you have one of the best pens in the majors when your closer is a major question mark? If you have a question mark a closer you dont have a top bullpen.
  3. Yeah whats the site. You cant turn down potential listeners
  4. I liked your laser eye surgery point. btw I cant see 5 feet in front of me without my glases(and I still dont wear them) so maybe laser eye surgery might be in my future.
  5. I dont use contact lens but isnt that something that should have been taken care of in a day and not last the entire year? I know you dont have a link but I dont know how just a contact lens problem had an effect on him for the entire year.
  6. Gosh I coulda swore I said the final chapter of this trade wont be written untill the prospects play consistantly in the majors. Also I said you might get an upgrade with Riske but it wont be much at all. Hard to reason with a Red Sox apologist anyway :dunno: .
  7. I didnt get a chance to speak with any of them but just by reading there posts they sounded like airheads in there own little world. What they should do is create there own board if they really want to carry on like they did.
  8. See thats the thing......you dont know if thats the case. I dont know if thats the case. If I were to go by people scouting reports ETC then I would think that is the case. The final word on wheather this is a good trade or not as usual when it involves prospects wont be writen untill they play in the majors consistantly. I also dont think you guys upgraded that hugely in Riske. Wedge the manager of the Guardians stopped using Riske in pressure situations last season because he couldnt get it done. The Sox are in pressure games all the time. Just in case you dont believe me here: http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.asp?sport=MLB&id=6309
  9. I love the anology and I agree. I think you guys might have overpaied for Crisp. IMO I'd rather overpay money wise to get a player(Damon) then overpay and give up a very talent prospect for a player like Crisp. Who would you rather have? Damon and Marte or just Crisp?
  10. If there is room I'm in
  11. Yeah, I expect the Yankees to be careful with him.
  12. Varitek being much better defensively then Posada is not accurate. Posada had a better CS%, Posada had 1 less error and 1 more passed ball then Varitek. Posada also had a better FBCT then Varitek last season. So the idea that Varitek is MUCH better defensivly then Posada is false
  13. I agree, Dotel was one of the most dominate set up men in the game for Billy Wagner in Houston. They moved him to closer and like alot of set up man gone closers they struggled. Now hes out of being a closer. There is huge upside for Dotel. As for him being ready Dotel said he would be ready in April. I think thats optomistic, I expect him back sometime in late May to June.
  14. No, because A-Rod actually was the better player . When you own a 24 point OBP lead, hit more HR's, steal 20 more bases, score more runs and contribute to the defense rather then sit on your ass for half the game you are the better player. Then again I feel most of the MLB awards are popularity contests anyway. Its football time guys we can argue later .
  15. Pudge easily could have gotten it over him. Also I dont give a crap about the gold glove. I didnt bring it up. Did Caberea have a better defensive season then Jeter? Maybe but I dont really care. RS tried to use the gold glove as a reason why Varitek is better then Posada when that award is more of a popularity contest then an award to honar the best defensive player at his position.
  16. hmmm I dont think I said he didnt have an edge and if you look at Varitek's defensive stats you can make a case he didnt deserve that gold glove.
  17. Thank you, no reason to expect Sheffield to decline out of the blue in this day and age. I can make the same argument for Varitek at 34 (4/11) who plays a much gruling position, and Mark Lorretta at age 34.
  18. Cano doesnt have to be a leader on a club with Derek Jeter. The defense argument is flawed because while Loretta might make less errors I believe (I saw this on the web the other day) Loretta's range has declined which is expected at age 35.
  19. I was talking about hitting.
  20. UIf you look at the stats, Varitek doesnt hold a MAJOR edge over Posada. He only had 3 more HR's then him. Posada drove in 1 more RBI and Varitek had a 14 point edge on him in OBP. I wouldnt call that a huge edge.
  21. If you say that I can come back and say Sheffield big over Nixon.
  22. Just my opinion. I think Cano is already better then Loretta and Damon has 20 OBP points and Damon scored 31 more runs then him (which some is a product of the linups they are in but Clevelands lineup certainly isnt bad). Crsip also has to prove himself in a pressure situation while Damon has been there done it. That said if you want to make Crisp and Damon equal thats fine. The difference in line ups come down to the huge edges each positon holds. IMO the Yankees own huges edges over the Red Sox at 1B, SS, 3B while the Red Sox only hold one huge edge at DH. That imo makes the Yankee lineup better.
