  1. Abreu is really playing well. The Yankees should hand Freddy Garcia his head. He has nothing. No zip on his pitches, nothing.
  2. I actually missed Juan Uribe there. I know he would have swung at the first pitch and it would have been a nice "chopper 2 hopper" to Jeter.
  3. That was a VERY tough inning. Atleast he kept us in the game but he really needs to find himself because he cant locate a thing right now.
  4. Give up a 2-run single to Alex Cintron. WOW
  5. This looks like its going to be a rough night.
  6. Wang's has zip control on his sinker right now.
  7. When the hell did Mike Sweeney come back?
  8. Liriano to the DL: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2543069 The Twins chances just too a major hit. It should be intresting too see if they call up Matt Garza.
  9. Wow I have a great memory. No way you could replace Manny.
  10. Was that the injury when he slid head first into the catcher in Seattle?
  11. You would be lucky to get Oswalt with that trade let alone Oswalt and a top offensive player in Berkman.
  12. It does, because hes so good and consistant he seems to be the Yankee everyone takes for granted. When hes gone and we are left sweating out the 9th inning we will then realize the great 10 + years we had.
  13. I'd throw Clippard in there too. He has had a very good year considering the start he got off to because of the knee injury. I compare him to a Brad Radke type pitcher. The Yankees clearly rely on the FA market. I would be foolish to not admit that. So when you look at it the Yankees are going to be shedding the contracts of guys like Mussina(Likely to resign), Giambi, RJ, Posada, Abreu and Jaret Wright over the next 2 years. So that payroll will not be 200 mill for long and Cashman has said he intends to get younger over the next couple of years while keeping the core of the team together(A-Rod, Jeter, Matsui, Cano, Melky). I'm only saying this because if you read what MC says he makes it sound like all of the Yankees are 38 and have no future. The Yankees will always be active on the FA market while adding guys like Hughes, Clippard, Duncan (I say sell high on him), Cox and later down the line Tabata. BTW Since when did 30 become old? I'd say they still have some good years ahead.
  14. Smart man right here. I think the old thing comes from guys like RJ and Mussina but when you think about it the Red Sox are also carrying Schilling and Wakefield. Mussina is also a FA at the end of the year so they could get younger if they want. EDIT: Rivera also. When he retires the Yankees will be in scramble mode for a closer.
  15. Its going to be tough going into this 26 game strech that we have but right now I feel great about this team.
  16. True, it was an off the wall idea in a situation where you were facing one of the great hitters ever. The worked out for them anyway.
  17. I'm pretty sure his IQ is lower then 13.
  18. All true but I would feel much better against Youkilis then Manny. The bottomline is dont give up a hit.
  19. This is kind of a weird idea but with 2 outs why not just walk both Ortiz and Manny and take your chances with Youkilis? Its a weird idea and it might sound dumb but both are so good.
  20. Yeah the Yankees are coming up on a VERY tough 26 game strech.
  21. I still think both the Yankees and Sox will make the playoffs. The Sox and Twins will beat up on each other while the Tigers will beat up on both.
  22. That actually worked the last time the Yankees were in KC. They were sweept.
