  1. Renfroe was s*** last year too early on. Way too soon to be talking about this trade paying off. Wait till Bradley goes into one of his long funks where his batting avg dips below 200.
  2. I take it Barnes isn't the closer anymore
  3. Did I miss something here, I thought they eliminitate the runner starting on 2nd in extra innings?
  4. Lol Jesus, it's the first game of the year. Way too early for that non sense
  5. 2 should have been it for Whitlock. f***ing hate it they want to make him starter and that's why he was still in this game
  6. He's not pitching every day anyways. So weather he throws 1 or 2 innings today he probably doesn't pitch tomorrow anyways as it's the first game of the year
  7. He threw 27 pitches. No big deal. Thats what he did all last year.
  8. And this is why Whitlock needs to stay in the pen. He can come in and give you 2 quick shut out innings.
  9. 84 percent last year. That's with some games registering 1AB
  10. I don't like the idea of making Whitlock a starter. He was dominant releiver and could go mutliple innings. Hes valuable there now with starters being pulled in the 5/6 inning. This has ruined a lot of careers in the past by moving a releiver into a starter.
  11. This is great news! I'm tired of watching these ridiculous shifts. It's like I'm watching slowpitch softball with a rover in the outfield. You have a position for a reason. What's the point of being a 3rd basemen if you're playing over half your position at shortstop/second base? It's dumb. Why name positions then if you want to allow the shifts? And people say , well the hitter needs to learn to hit the other way. This is MLB where pitchers throw 90+ with junk. It's not easy to hit the other way. Just making contact is hard. Play your darn position.
  12. He did make a move. We got JBJ back!
  13. I would love this move as well but I just can't see it happening. Probably just driving up the price for the other teams involved. I hope he doesn't go to the Jay's.
  14. Hard pass on Correa. He's injury prone and way too inconsistent with the bat.
  15. Next year it will be interesting to see if Papi makes it in on the first try.
  16. If we had JBJ last year instead of Renfroe the Sox don't even the playoffs. That's how bad JBJ was last year
  17. Any way we look at this it's mind boggling. As a previous poster mentioned he decided to let JBJ walk which turned out to be the right move considering what Milwaukee was paying him but now he trades for him and essentially hoping these prospects pan out. If they don't this is s*** trade. I can't see JBJ miraculously being productive this year. His entire career he's had about 2-3 good stretches and that's it. He's been utterly crap aside from that.
  18. How many at bats? Plenty of players don't have as good stats in the playoffs as in the post season. Look at Mookie Betts. Too much of a small sample size for Renfroe
  19. Wtf! I hope these prospects turn out to be good or else the Sox got fleeced on this one. JbJ f***ing blows. Even with his stellar defense HE WAS A MINUS 0.7 WAR PLAYER LAST YEAR. Bloom better have a plan to bring in a full time outfielder or else the lineup will have an automatic out with JBJ playing full time.
  20. Wtf, 10 Mil for a guy who can't even pitch until potentially August. Great Value there Bloom.
  21. I'm not a fan of Stroman. He's a drama queen. He certainly has the numbers. If he could keep his mouth shut and pitch sure but he can't so that's a hard pass for me.
  22. In all honesty the offense has sucked in the last 3 games. That's not debatable. With that being said , in the playoffs sometimes you have to grind out 2-1, 3-2 games. The Sox don't have the bullpen for that. Cora can't manage the way he did in these playoffs. He needed to leave his starters and use the pen less.
  23. He's being saved for the bottom of the ninth after the Sox take the lead
