    We are not that rich in offense. Our offense was not that much of a force in September, looking awful at times. Ellsbury will not be touched. Why don't you think Ells could hit 25+ homers again next season? He clearly has the power and stroke for it. You don't get a chance to have a player of Ellsburys calibur at age 27 very often. There is little chance he is going anywhere, anytime soon.

    Also I have finally jumped ship. Tito needs to go. Putting Lavarnway in the 5 hole last night, and then refusing to pinch hit for him in the 8th when he had left handed options is inexcusable. He came up in a huge spot everytime and never came through. Crawford, Drew, Scutaro all should have hit ahead of Lavarnway.

    Why is it that all of the free agents that the Yankees bring in work, but when Theo opens the pocket book he can never hit it spot on. Is it really harder to preform in Boston then New York?

    Is there a statistical reason why Tek has been playing less and less in September, or am I just making things up?

    I had standing room and ended up staying and catching the game from the 5th row! The end of the game was actually pretty exciting, thought they have a comeback in then. Not this team. PS Reddick is having a terrible night. Is JD done for the season?

    I was at the game Sunday, and it was a horror show. He was dropping everything in huge situations. Granted Wakefield was pitching, but it didn't stop when Wake was taken out.

    Varitek should be catching. Salty can't call a game, catch the baseball (2 foul tips that a good catcher would have caught for strike three) and he isn't even hitting right now.

    What is stopping him from pitching for 5 more years? As he has shown time and time again, he is so valuable. What team has the security of Wake?

    If he stays healthy Wake is going to pitch until he is 50.

    and I would not pass judgment on him. He took the home town discount for years here. He deserves the money.

    If the Yankees offered him a four year deal worth 15 million a season (which they would) he would have trouble turning it down.
