  1. I wonder how Thumper's major leauge career is going?
  2. How far does Roy Oswalt's price have to drop before we make a move on the guy. Joe Saunders signed a 1 year 6 million dollar deal.
  3. Get JD Drew on the phone!
  4. my argument is dead.
  5. Those names are not worth signing for big money and parting with young talent.
  6. I honestly don't really agree... I think CC and Lester are almost a wash this year. Beckett is better than Pienda. Buchholz if healthy is more established and had better numbers in 2010 then Nova had in 2011. Bard is a huge question mark but the HUGE upside exists with him. I honestly think Hughes and Bard are a wash, just based on how hugely in consistent Phill has been since he has been a Yankee. Garcia/Burnett versus Red Sox 5th starter slop- advatange Yankees... but it may not be as big as people think. I think they should get decent production out of a Silva/Cook/Padilla combo.... I think Garcia caught lightning in a bottle last year, and will not pitch nearly as well this year. Who knows what happens with Burnett, he was bad last year but he obviously still has a lot of talent. He may be gone though. Also another wildcard- DiceK could be back by July 1... if he is healthy he will be pitching for some kind of contract in 2013 and might actually be effective. Do you disagree with that breakdown? I think starting pitching is not a huge advantage for New York.
  7. They haven't traded him yet because they haven't seen a FA option worth unloading their young talent for. That changes next offseason, in my opinion. Will it be the right decision? It usually works out for them.
  8. It's the Yankees! They don't have to be rational.... IT has happened again, and again.
  9. I'm guessing Youks 2011 health problems could have just as likely been caused by batting and running the bases as it was playing 3B.
  10. What would make the Yanks out of the running for a top arm next year? Kuroda will come off the books and Pineda at 23 will still be very cheap. The Yankees will still have the ability to make a major pitching move.
  11. Does playing 3RD base really wear on your body more than playing first? I think Youk will have a productive year this year, and next year he will transition into being the DH, assuming Ortiz walks and Youks team option is picked up.
  12. My apologies! I did not catch that.
  13. He pitched really well the last two months of the season... He went on the DL for a month... Look at is stats from August 1st on. I would take him for 1 year at 8 million in a heartbeat.
  14. Wrong, so wrong... Did you even watch games Aceves started last year? Bottom line, he wasn't very good. I think he had an ERA in the mid 5's and averaged about 5 innings a start. I think Bard has the tools to become a 2nd or 3rd starter in this leauge. Like ORS said, he has the build and delivery to crank heavy gas even into the late innings. I think the best part of transitioning Bard to the rotation is I think it suits him better mentally. For some reason I have always gotten the sense that Bard wasn't entirely comfortable in big spots late in the game. I think the FO knows this, which is why there was almost no talk of Bard taking over once Papelbon jetted to Philly. I think starting he will be able to relax and feel less pressure then coming in to shut down a team completely for 1 inning.
  15. My prediction is Ben is going to sit back and do nothing... he doesn't seem to be the guy that reacts to anything.
  16. Enter Bobby V.
  17. It's only the Pistons, but the Celtics are a different team with Pierce on the floor.
