  1. Crap I forgot my sarcasm brackets.
  2. I stand at 95-96 wins. They are so much improved in almost every area. Drew over Nixon, Lugo over gonzo. That should make our offense better, to maybe a 2003-2004 level. I think DiceK is a huge addition, and Beckett should improve. I mean if there weren't injuries last season we probably would have won 92-94 games. Maybe even more.
  3. If you don't get an erection when Manny Ramirez hits a Home run then you will never be a real Red Sox fan.
  4. I also think the FO realizes the fact that they made several errors last season and in my estimation did a nice job filling those gaps with high priced players. I think they have upgraded tremendously this year and will win at least 10 more games then they did last year. So I still think the FO is doing a decent job. I was excited that losing really pissed them off last year, and they spent some money this offseason.
  5. I agree with soxfan. Looking back we should have signed Lowe instead of Clement, I also think that trading Bronson a proven innings guy for Willy Mo, who really has no where to play this year. I know it happened a year ago but can you imagine our 5th starter being Bronson with Papelbon as our closer. That would be excellent.
  6. Schill's line today Boston IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Schilling 7.0 6 2 2 0 6 0 2.20 I am starting to think we should give this guy an extension.
  7. If Clemens goes to the Red Sox then they have a better shot and going to the playoffs then the Yankees do. No one could match up with a rotation that consisted of Schilling, Beckett, Matsuzaka, Wake and Clemens. I'm going to play devils advocate for a second here and say, what if Clemens comes back here and wins 3-4 postseason games enroute to a W.S. title? I think that would greatly help how he is remembered in Boston, and I think he is probably bothered by the fact that he never one the big one with the Red Sox. Also he is 8 wins away from 200 as a red sox, and just 1 win away from being the All time leader in wins. There are plenty of reasons for Roger to finish his career here.
  8. As much as I would welcome this, I mean seriously soxrules its been 4 years since Clemens was a Yankee, its not going to happen. Clemens just like last year is going to end up in Houston.
  9. Wrong again, our bullpen went from solid without a closer, to a championship level bullpen. Our rotation is hurt but we still have 3 potential 1 starters with wakefield as an innings eater. If Lester returns to what he was in June and July last year, this team is going to be better with Papelbon being the closer.
  10. So what are you saying, you hate Epstein and Lucchino? So you hate it when the team improves and you were satisfied with last years performance. You my friend are an idiot.
  11. Why did paps pitch 3 innings today?
  12. I would agree but the shoulder still is a major concern. Wasn't it about 5 months ago that the doctor said Papelbon has to start?
  13. Youk with a 3 run shot. Willy Mo with a solo shot and Papelbon is the freaking closer!
  14. No offical annoucment yet, just a reoprt from Erin Andrews who has talked to Red Sox officals this morning.
  15. I wanted him to start but this really makes me feel good about our bullpen. I think Taverez will be the 5th starter until Lester is ready. I'll try to find a Link.
  16. Schilling wants to stay. What do you not understand about that? He loves the fans and the city. Why would he leave if the sox made him a good offer?
  17. The celtics have to pick Oden. They have pierce and Green and Wally. They have no center at all. A lineup with West, Green, Pierce, Jefferson, Oden with Rondo, Perk and Wally off the bench would be a 45+ win team next season. If Pierce hadn't gone down with an injury they would have won about 35-40 games this season. I think they were 10-13 when he went down, and they are about .500 since he returned. If Ainge picks Durant and Oden is left on the board it will be a huge mistake.
  18. If he has a good year he will be back. He will be 41 years old, do you really think he will want to move his famiy again? No, Schill is pitching with us next year if he pitches well. It is not about money anymore either, at this point in his career is their a big difference between 13-14 million to 15-16. He has made enough money. He will also want to go out on top, and he knows the redsox can help him do that.
  19. Yeah he was nasty today. This is the first time he really cranked up the fastball. He hit 95-96 several times today and his breaking pitches are also becoming more sharp.
  20. From what I read Becketts stuff was increidible for 4 and 2/3 and then he went away from his curve after that. I say this outing for him is still a good sign, and it's good that he admits he needs to throw more offspeed pitches when he gets into trouble.
  21. I agree 100 percent with Crespo. What he did was unaceptable, and he got his fair share in the end. It's Pete Rose's own fault he is not in the hall of fame; it's not baseballs fault what so ever.
