    I know, but it has always seemed strange to me, to same way Bonds hitting homeruns at a more prolific rate after the age of 35 seems strange.

    I'm glad to see Pedroia start to hit. It looks like he is cutting down on his swing a bit. If he can hit, and Lugo starts to hit then we will have a very good offense.

    True, but he only averaged 6 innings a start, that can only go down when he faces the deeper lineups of the AL.

    Are you serious? Our rotation will be better if DiceK can live up to his billing. I would rather have Schill Beckett and Wake more than Clemens right now. What has changed since Clemens posted a 3.90 Era in 03? 4 years of age. Clemens is going to probably post a 4.00 ERA in the AL east. Which don't get me wrong will improve their chances, but it by no means makes them the AL east favorites.

    My thought on Clemens is that it makes this race very even. If the yankees didn't make this move than I think it would have been a long summer in the Bronx.

    I still think we are a better team. Our lineup while not as powerful has shown to be just as deep on some nights. Our bullpen is better, Papelbon is better than Rivera. Even with Clemens I still think our rotation is better. Roger has just ruined his chance to ever be welcomed back at Fenway Park. Clemens is 44, and he averaged only 6 innings a start in the NL last year. Thats probably like 5 innings a start in the AL east.

    Wake with a 2.11 ERA, right now he is pitching as well as anybody on the staff. This reminds me kind of like two years ago when he was so dominant in september and was our ace that year.

    I am hoping for 2/3 with the pitching matchups, let's hope Manny continues to get hiw swing going. It would be nice if he hits 3-4 Jacks this weekend.

    He isnt hurt, this was part of the plan coming out of spring training, if Tito felt like he needed two games off, then its great that Tito held back tonight. Now we have a very fresh Paps for the twins series, and we won both games when he was able to pitch. So far we are 3/3 in save chances that Papelbon isn't aviable.

    Nice win last night. I have to say I really didn't expect it basically because over the last four years it seems like we can't hit soft tossing lefties. Props to Manny, who as usual begins his season in May. I really love it how he threw his helmet off like Ortiz does when he hits a walk off homerun, that entire sequence was classic Manny, you cringe because he makes himself look like a total fool, but we love it because he is probably the greatest right handed hitter in team history. I am still really concerned about DiceK, he really needs to have a good outting next time. I don't know what it is but he just has trouble pitching out of the stretch. 18-9 is pretty damn good, and with the prospect that DiceK can only get better (I hope), and Manny has finally checked in, things look pretty good right now and I apologize for being a negative ass at the begining of the game.

    I am negative because this guy was talked up by everyone all off-season as the second coming. From what I have seen is that he can't throw strikes when he wants to, and he gets rattled way to easily. I am also negative because I just don't think Lugo can play, especially not for 40 million.

    DiceK with yet another implosion. It seems like when he gets in trouble he gets the "Derek Lowe" face as Bill Simmons would like to say.

    Can somebody tell me why we have Julio Lugo? He isn't that good of a hitter to make up for for his horrible defense. This game is allready over.

    I would rather have Schill Beckett and Wake on the mound rather than DiceK right now.

    DiceK can't control when he wants to. This is getting really bad.

    I hope DiceK will locate the entire game and not have any mental lapses like in previous starts. If he keeps it together mentally he will be dominant. I predict Manny having 2 homers tonight and the sox will win 6-2. I am a little concerned with J.D., I hope he feels better soon and he hits like he did to start the season. People have said he is a streaky hitter and he has definitely shown that thus far. Another point I have is that Francona better not burn Okajima out early in the season. He has pitched incredibly well so far, but Terry rolls him out there night after night. Let's hope others step up so the good guys can stay fresh.

    Iwould take Schilling Beckett DiceK Wake Lester over that rotation.

    Isn't this also due to the fact that there pitching was horrible, and they had a lot of balls put in play, that were uncatchable? I don't really know what I'm talking about here but after watching most every game their defense was pretty solid.

    Maybe as early as next week, but probably in the middle of May sometime.
